**דבר אחר ביד חזקה שתים וכו'** הנה דריש התיבות רק באותו' ומופתי' דמיעוט אותות שתים. ויש להבין דמי לא יודע דהיו עשר מכו'. אבל הנראה כי דרש פסוק על מכת בכורות לבד דהי' נחלק לעשר מכות. פרטיות (א) בכור מאב (ב) בכור מאם (ג) גדול שבמשפחה (ד) גדול הבית (ה) בכור משבי (ו) בכור השפחה (ז) בכור של מצרי' בשאר ארצו' (ח) ובכור משאר ארצו' במצרים (ט) ובכור בהמה (כ"כ המפרש בפיוט דשבת הגדול כי אלו ט נכללים במכות בכורות) אמנם מכה העשירי היא מכה אשר לא כתובה בתורה והוא מה שהרגו הבכורים לאבותיהם. ונר' דזהו מה שפרשי בפ' וארא אני שולח כל מגפותי אל לבך. למדנו מכאן שמכת בכורות שקול כנגד כולם. וטעמי' בעי. ולפמ"ש ניחא משום דמכה זו כולל עשר מכות. ולזה רמז הדבר אחר יד חזקה שתם כי דרש כל הקרא על מכת בכורות שהי' כולל' עשר מכו'. אע"ג דלעיל כתבתי בשם מדרש דגם בכור במעי אמו מת. אפשר דאין זה מין פרטיי לא קחשיב:

**Another interpretation: With a mighty hand – that is two plagues**… Everyone knows that there were ten plagues. This is not an interpretation about the ten plagues but about the ten aspects of the tenth plague. The tenth plague affected ten different people: (1) the firstborn of the father; (2) the firstborn of the mother; (3) the oldest member of the family; (4) the oldest member of the household; (5) the firstborn of the enslaved; (6) the firstborn of the slaves; (7) Egyptian firstborn living in foreign lands; (8) the firstborn of other lands living in Egypt; (9) the firstborn of the cattle; (10) the revolt of the firstborn in which others were killed in Egypt. The tenth plague, then, was equal to all the other plagues, combined. This statement alludes to the horror of the tenth plague. This verse is interpreted as referring to the tenth plague which was equal to ten plagues since it includes ten different plagues.
