**יכול מר"ח** ר"ל כי שואלין ודורשין לרשב"ג שתי שבתו'. או אפי' לת"ק משו' נקרא כתיב החודש הזה לכם ואז צוה לו מקחו מבעשור. ת"ל בעבור זה. וקשה א"כ ל"ל ביום ההוא הלא בעבור זה כתיב. ונר' דאי לאו ביום ההוא. אז הי' אפשר לומ' בעבור זה קאי על שמיט' הפסח וישאלו מבעוד יום. אבל עתה דכתיב ביו' ההוא ומשמע מני' מבעוד יום והיינו שחיטת הפסח א"כ בעבור זה ל"ל אלא להורות בשעה שמצה ומרור מונחים לפניך:

**One might think that one must tell the story of the Exodus on *Rosh Hodesh***: One might conclude that this is the case because according to Rabbi Shimon ben Gamliel, one must begin to expound on the laws of Passover two weeks before the holiday. Similarly, the *Torah*says, ‘This month shall be the beginning of months for you,’ suggesting that one should begin telling the story of the Exodus from Rosh Hodesh.
