G-d set His torah among us so that we may properly know what to do and how to conduct ourselves in this world. Through the torah, we may know how to do G-d's will. Without it, a man is like a fool, walking in darkness. Not only that, but through the torah one also attains the pleasures of this world as explained in parsha Bechukotai: "if you will walk in My statutes, I will give..." **בעניני העולם בלבד**ר"ל שיש הנאה ושכר על זה בעולם הזה. וז"ל בעל העקרים מאמר א' פ"ח דדת הנימוסיות תקצר מן האלהיות בפנים רבים. האחד כי הנימוסיות תתקן פעולתו קבוץ המדינה אבל לא תספיק לתת שלימות בנפש לשוב על ידיהן למקורו וע"ז אמר המשורר תורת ה' תמימה משיבת נפש. הב' שהנימוסיות לא תוכל להפריד הנאה מן המגונה דרך אמתי כי כבר יהיה אצלנו נאה או מגונה ואין כן דרך אמת ואין כח אדם להשיגו וע"ז נאמר עדות ה' נאמנה מחכימת פתי כי היא מודעת הבדל נאה ממגונה באמת. הג' להיות העוסק בדת נימוסיות מסופק אם פעולותיו מוגבלים כראוי וכל אשר יסופק בו האדם לא ישמח בעשותו אבל קוטבי התורה חזקים ומשמחים וזהו פקודי ה' ישרים משמחי לב. הד' שהדת הנימוסיות לא תוכל להפריד פרטי הפעולות מפני קוצר המשיג לרבות המקיפים והתורה חושבת כל הפרטים וז"ש מצות ה' ברה וגו'. הה' שהנימוסיות סדורה מבן אדם אי אפשר שתהיה נצחיית יען הנאה והמגונה ישתנה ברבות הזמן אבל תורת אל היא נצחיית וז"ש יראת ה' טהורה עומדת לעד. הו' הדת הנימוסיות לא תצא ידי כל הדעות שאין הטבעים שוים משא"כ האלהיות וז"ש משפטי ה' אמת צדקו יחדו ע"כ מתק לשונו וצוף דבש אמרותיו והעתקתי כל דבריו מפני כמה דברים נחמדים דאיכא למשמע מיניה בספר הזה:

**וכבר נאמר כי כו'**ר"ל אף על פי שנפי הנראה לדעתנו העולם כמנהגו נוהג והכל כפי הטבע אבל באמת משועבד הטבע והמנהג לתורה ר"ל למקיימי התורה לעשות כרצונם כעבד המשועבד לאדונו והדבר מבואר ואיננו חוץ לטבע שהרי השם יתברך הבורא העולמות והטבע הוא בעצמו נתן לנו תורתו ודתו והוא צוה על כל נבראיו שיהיו משועבדים תחת יד מקיימי התורה ומי יעכב על ידו וכמו שמורים הפסוקים שבתורה וביארו המחבר כחשבון הששי במשל נמרץ עיין שם וסיים שם הלא אתה יודע כי הבורא יתברך התנה בתורתו הנאמנה שיהיה ברשותך ובחפצך כל מה שבעולם אם תעבדהו ושיעבור על רצונך כשתעבור על דבריו כמו שהוא מבואר בפ' אם בחקותי תלכו וזולת ע"כ ועיין בס"ז שלי מש"ש וכן דעת חז"ל בהרבה מקומות כידוע. ובשל"ה הביא ג"כ כמה דעות אם השכר טבעי או הסכמי ודעתו כדעת כל המקובלים שהשכר טבעי נמשך בעצה למקיימי התורה עיין שם באריכות:

Even though it appears that the world acts independently according to natural laws, in truth nature is under rule of the torah, i.e. those who fulfill the torah. They can rule over nature as they wish as a master can rule over his slave (subject to certain limitations by G-d). This is not something supernatural because G-d, who created the universe and the laws of nature - He Himself gave us the torah, and He decreed on all of His creations that they be under the rule of those who fulfill the torah.. And as the verses in the torah teach.
