**מפני שהוא עובר על פשעיו**מפני שהשכל מחייב שהנפש החוטאת תמות כמנהג מלכותא דארעא וכאשר ימחול לו ראוי שיאהב אותו אהבה רבה:

**וכפרתו רעונותיו**שפשע במה שלא שמע אליו לעשות מצותיו ורוב מחילתו לו היינו במה שעשה בפועל דבר שהזהיר ממנו וכפרתו על היסח דעתו מנטירה את עצמו ע"ז. פ"ל:

**וכבר זרזנו הנביא ע"ה בזה באמרו ואהבת וגו'**ר"ל מזה נלמוד שתהיה האהבה רק מחמת עוצם גדולתו ורוממותו לבד ולא מחמת שום טעם אחר או מחמת שום קבלת שכר שהרי זירז אותנו שנאהבהו בכל לבבנו וגו' ור"ל בגוף ובממון ובכבוד. או לפי' השני שתהא האהבה כוללת הנפש והגוף והממון להתנדב אדם בכל זה כמו שמפרש וא"כ איך יעלה על הדעת שנאהבהו ונעבדהו בשביל קיבול שכר בעוה"ז שהוא לגוף או בעוה"ב לנשמה א"כ אוהב יותר את עצמו מלאהוב אותו ית' והוא הפך ואהבת את ה' וגו':

Hence, it is our duty to offer to Him even the good He bestowed to us in the past (money), and to accept on ourselves even the harshest sufferings (of our body) for Him. If so, certainly, we should not love Him out of hope for future additional benefits or to be spared from suffering.

**כי מהם מי שמתנדב בגופו ובממונו**ר"ל יש אדם שמטריח עצמו לרצון אהובו בגופו ובממונו ובכבודו הוא פי' בכל לבבך שע"י גובה לבי של אדם הוא רודף אחר הכבוד:

**ואפשר שירצה כו'**ועתה הוא מפרש הפסוק לענין נפש ממש אם השעה צריכה לכך כמו שהביא בכל נפשך אפי' נוטל את נפשך והוא הנשמה כי הדם הוא הנפש שבו משכן הנשמה. ולבבך על הגוף כי שם משכן נפש החיוני:

**וזירז**אותנו להתנדב ולהטריח בכל נפשנו הוא בגופו:

**בשני יצריך ביצר הטוב וביצר הרע**כי יוכל האדם לעבוד ה' במדות השייכות ליצר הרע כמו הכעס והגאוה ודומיהן כמו במדות הטובות השייכות ליצר הטוב כמו שהאריך המחבר בסוף שער הג' ע"ש ובאו"צ ביאר בכל המדות באורך ע"ש:
