**מפני שהאדם כו'**שהרי אין ספק שהאדם מחוייב לעבוד את ה' כי השכל מחייב זה כמו שנתבאר בפתיחה:

**ויש בין עת כו'**רק שיש זמן ארוך בין עת שמקבל הטובות שהוא מיום ברא אלהים את האדם ואז אינו יודע לתת הודאה עליהם עד עת שישכיל וידע מה שהוא חייב עליהם ובין כך וכך ילך בשרירות לבו:

**היתה הערת האדם כו' חובה**ולכך הוא חיוב וראוי להורות לו את הדרך אשר ילך בו ואת המעשה אשר יעשה להעיר אותו ולהעמידו על האמונה האמיתית מקטנותו כדי שלא ילך בלא דת ובלא מעשים טובים זה זמן רב ואפשר שישתקע כך ויהיה כסוס כפרד ומלת חובה קאי אדלעיל כלומר היתה חובה על המשכיל לעורר את שאינם משכילים עדיין כדי שלא ישאר בלא דת זמן רב עד שישכיל בעצמו:

Hence it is proper and a duty to teach him the path he should walk, and the deeds he should do - to stir him and stand him on the true faith from his early years so that he does not walk without religion and without good deeds for a long time. For otherwise it is possible that he will become ingrained in this like a wild horse.

**אחד מהם תקוע בשכל כו'**כן הוא בטבע כל אדם בעל שכל כמו שידע ויכיר בין טוב לרע כן ראוי להכניע למי שמטיב עמו:

It is in human nature, for every person with intelligence, that just like he knows and can discern between good and evil, so too he knows that it is proper to humble himself before his Benefactor.

**והשני קנוי בדרך השמע כו'**ויש עוד הערה אל האדם מה ששמע ולמד מאחרים דהיינו מה ששמענו ממשה רבינו ע"ה אדון הנביאים איכה נעבוד את ה':

There is something additional which arouses him, namely, what he hears and learns from other people, i.e. what we heard from Moshe Rabeinu, peace be unto him, the master of all prophets - how we should serve G-d.
