**אמר המחבר מפני שקדם בו' והיתה הגאוה כו'**כי אין לך דבר רע יותר מהגאוה שמפסיד ומקלקל את המעשים טובים שע"י הגאוה אין מעשיו לש"ש כמו שיתבאר. ואמרו חז"ל שהמתגאה כאלו עובד עבודת כוכבים והרבה בזה כדלקמן:

**ומפני שנתברר לנו עוד כו'**ועוד אם האדה שפל רוח מאד מאד מראה בזה שהוא עבד ושהש"י הוא האדון לבד ושראוי לעבדו לבד בלא שום פניה אחרת ולכך ראוי לסמוך שער הכניעה שהוא הפך הגאוה ליחוד המעשים:
