## Micah Chapter 1

###### Micah 1:1

דְּבַר־יְהֹוָ֣ה**׀** אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֗ה אֶל־מִיכָה֙ הַמֹּ֣רַשְׁתִּ֔י בִּימֵ֥י יוֹתָ֛ם אָחָ֥ז יְחִזְקִיָּ֖ה מַלְכֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה אֲשֶׁר־חָזָ֥ה עַל־שֹׁמְר֖וֹן וִירֽוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The word of the Lord that came to Mikha the Morashtite in the days of Yotam, Aĥaz, Yeĥizqiyya, kings of Yehuda, which he saw concerning Shomeron and Yerushalayim.


###### Micah 1:2

שִׁמְעוּ֙ עַמִּ֣ים כֻּלָּ֔ם הַקְשִׁ֖יבִי אֶ֣רֶץ וּמְלֹאָ֑הּ וִיהִי֩ אֲדֹנָ֨י יֱהֹוִ֤ה בָּכֶם֙ לְעֵ֔ד אֲדֹנָ֖י מֵהֵיכַ֥ל קׇדְשֽׁוֹ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Hear, all you peoples; hearken, O earth, and all that is in it: and let the Lord God be witness against you, the Lord from 
					his holy temple.


###### Micah 1:3

כִּֽי־הִנֵּ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה יֹצֵ֣א מִמְּקוֹמ֑וֹ וְיָרַ֥ד וְדָרַ֖ךְ עַל־[בָּ֥מֳתֵי] (במותי) אָֽרֶץ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For, behold, the Lord comes out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.


###### Micah 1:4

וְנָמַ֤סּוּ הֶֽהָרִים֙ תַּחְתָּ֔יו וְהָעֲמָקִ֖ים יִתְבַּקָּ֑עוּ כַּדּוֹנַג֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י הָאֵ֔שׁ כְּמַ֖יִם מֻגָּרִ֥ים בְּמוֹרָֽד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the mountains shall melt under him, and the valleys shall be split, like wax before the fire, and like water that is poured down a steep place.


###### Micah 1:5

בְּפֶ֤שַׁע יַֽעֲקֹב֙ כׇּל־זֹ֔את וּבְחַטֹּ֖אות בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מִֽי־פֶ֣שַׁע יַעֲקֹ֗ב הֲלוֹא֙ שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן וּמִי֙ בָּמ֣וֹת יְהוּדָ֔ה הֲל֖וֹא יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
All this is for the transgression of Ya῾aqov, and for the sins of the house of Yisra᾽el. What is the transgression of Ya῾aqov? is it not Shomeron? and what are the high places of Yehuda? are they not Yerushalayim?


###### Micah 1:6

וְשַׂמְתִּ֥י שֹׁמְר֛וֹן לְעִ֥י הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה לְמַטָּ֣עֵי כָ֑רֶם וְהִגַּרְתִּ֤י לַגַּי֙ אֲבָנֶ֔יהָ וִיסֹדֶ֖יהָ אֲגַלֶּֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Therefore I will turn Shomeron into a heap of rubble in the field, into a place for planting vines; and I will pour her stones into the valley, and I will lay bare her foundations.


###### Micah 1:7

וְכׇל־פְּסִילֶ֣יהָ יֻכַּ֗תּוּ וְכׇל־אֶתְנַנֶּ֙יהָ֙ יִשָּׂרְפ֣וּ בָאֵ֔שׁ וְכׇל־עֲצַבֶּ֖יהָ אָשִׂ֣ים שְׁמָמָ֑ה כִּ֠י מֵאֶתְנַ֤ן זוֹנָה֙ קִבָּ֔צָה וְעַד־אֶתְנַ֥ן זוֹנָ֖ה יָשֽׁוּבוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And all her carved idols shall be beaten to pieces, and all her hires shall be burned with the fire, and all her idols will I lay desolate: for she gathered them of the hire of a harlot, and they shall return to the hire of a harlot.


###### Micah 1:8

עַל־זֹאת֙ אֶסְפְּדָ֣ה וְאֵילִ֔ילָה אֵילְכָ֥ה (שילל) [שׁוֹלָ֖ל] וְעָר֑וֹם אֶעֱשֶׂ֤ה מִסְפֵּד֙ כַּתַּנִּ֔ים וְאֵ֖בֶל כִּבְנ֥וֹת יַעֲנָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For this I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like jackals, and a mourning like owls.


###### Micah 1:9

כִּ֥י אֲנוּשָׁ֖ה מַכּוֹתֶ֑יהָ כִּי־בָ֙אָה֙ עַד־יְהוּדָ֔ה נָגַ֛ע עַד־שַׁ֥עַר עַמִּ֖י עַד־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For her wound is incurable; for it has come as far as Yehuda; it has reached the gate of my people, to Yerushalayim.


###### Micah 1:10

בְּגַת֙ אַל־תַּגִּ֔ידוּ בָּכ֖וֹ אַל־תִּבְכּ֑וּ בְּבֵ֣ית לְעַפְרָ֔ה עָפָ֖ר (התפלשתי) [הִתְפַּלָּֽשִׁי]׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Declare it not at Gat, weep not at all: in Bet-le῾afra roll thyself in the dust.


###### Micah 1:11

עִבְרִ֥י לָכֶ֛ם יוֹשֶׁ֥בֶת שָׁפִ֖יר עֶרְיָה־בֹ֑שֶׁת לֹ֤א יָֽצְאָה֙ יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת צַֽאֲנָ֔ן מִסְפַּד֙ בֵּ֣ית הָאֵ֔צֶל יִקַּ֥ח מִכֶּ֖ם עֶמְדָּתֽוֹ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Pass away, thou inhabitant of Shafir in nakedness and shame: the inhabitant of Za᾽anan did not come forth to the mourning of Bet-ha᾽eżel: he will take away from you that standing still!


###### Micah 1:12

כִּֽי־חָ֥לָֽה לְט֖וֹב יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת מָר֑וֹת כִּֽי־יָ֤רַד רָע֙ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה לְשַׁ֖עַר יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For the inhabitant of Marot waited carefully for good tidings: but evil came down from the Lord to the gate of Yerushalayim.


###### Micah 1:13

רְתֹ֧ם הַמֶּרְכָּבָ֛ה לָרֶ֖כֶשׁ יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת לָכִ֑ישׁ רֵאשִׁ֨ית חַטָּ֥את הִיא֙ לְבַת־צִיּ֔וֹן כִּי־בָ֥ךְ נִמְצְא֖וּ פִּשְׁעֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Harness the chariot to the steed, O inhabitant of Lakhish: she was the beginning of sin to the daughter of Żiyyon: for the transgressions of Yisra᾽el were found in thee.


###### Micah 1:14

לָכֵן֙ תִּתְּנִ֣י שִׁלּוּחִ֔ים עַ֖ל מוֹרֶ֣שֶׁת גַּ֑ת בָּתֵּ֤י אַכְזִיב֙ לְאַכְזָ֔ב לְמַלְכֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshet-gat: the houses of Akhziv are a dried up stream to the kings of Yisra᾽el.


###### Micah 1:15

עֹ֗ד הַיֹּרֵשׁ֙ אָ֣בִי לָ֔ךְ יוֹשֶׁ֖בֶת מָֽרֵשָׁ֑ה עַד־עֲדֻלָּ֥ם יָב֖וֹא כְּב֥וֹד יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Yet will I bring an impropriator upon thee, O inhabitant of Maresha: the glory of Yisra᾽el shall come to ῾Adullam.


###### Micah 1:16

קׇרְחִ֣י וָגֹ֔זִּי עַל־בְּנֵ֖י תַּעֲנוּגָ֑יִךְ הַרְחִ֤בִי קׇרְחָתֵךְ֙ כַּנֶּ֔שֶׁר כִּ֥י גָל֖וּ מִמֵּֽךְ׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Make thyself bald, and crop thy hair for the children of thy delight; make a wide baldness on thy head like a vulture; for they are exiled from thee.
