**היא** שעמדה וגו' ההבטחה שהבטיח הקב"ה לאברהם היא שעמדה לאבותינו שלא הניחם שם עד תשלום ארבע מאות שנה. שאילו הניחם שם לא היו יכולים עוד לצאת כמו שאמרנו.

“**It is that which has sustained us**…” This is the promise which the Holy One made to Abraham, that God would sustain our ancestors until the completion of the four hundred years. If God had abandoned Israel, they would not have been able to go forth as was said.

ולנו ג"כ עינו ית' פקוחה להצילנו מיד הקמים עלינו לטמאנו ולהוציאנו מעבודתו כמו שעינינו רואות תמיד והקב"ה מצילנו מידם:

“**And us**” also; God’s eye is constantly on us to protect us from those who rise up against us to make us impure and to take us out from their service. We have constantly seen that the Holy One saves us from their hands
