**ארבה** היא המכה השמינית. **אפו** שכסה את עין הארץ. ופירשו בו שהיה כל כך ברבוי עד שהמקום היה צר מלהכילם באופן שלא היו יכולים לראות את הארץ.

ארבה, **Arbeh**, Locust is the eighth plague. 
1. **אַפּ֗וֹ** His anger” - The sages explained that there were so many locust, the land was too narrow to contain them - so much so that they couldn’t see the earth.

**עברה** שלא היו גם כן יכולים לראות האויר וזהו עין הארץ והיו נכשלים בהילוכם.

2. **עֶבְרָ֣ה** “Wrath” - They also weren’t able to see the sky (above them) - this is *Ein kol ha’aretz* (Ex. 10:15)¹⁵⁸ And as a result they stumbled when they tried to walk.

**צרה** אחם? שלא היה הארבה מוצא מה לאכול היה אוכל את בשר המצרים. ולז"א פרעה העתירו לה' אלקיכם ויסר מעלי רק את המות הזה מכלל שהיו מתים בסבתם.

4. **צָרָ֑ה** “Trouble,” - When the locust could no longer find anything else to eat, they began to consume the Egyptians. That is why Pharaoh said, “Plead with *HaShem* your God that He remove this death from me.” (Ex, 10:17) This implies that the Egyptians were dying because of the locust.

5. **מִ֝שְׁלַ֗חַת מַלְאֲכֵ֥י רָעִֽים** “A band of deadly messengers” - There were no locust left within the borders of the land of Egypt, even the locust that were pickled or cooked which they had before hand…
