(Exod. 15:25, cont.:) THERE HE ESTABLISHED FOR THEM A STATUTE AND AN ORDINANCE. A STATUTE (as in Exod. 20:12): The honoring of father and mother.⁶⁵‘ 1, according to which the statute concerns the Sabbath, while the ordinance is the honoring of father and mother.

ויאמר אם שמוע תשמע (שם שם כו). רצה אדם לשמוע מצוה אחת, שומע הרבה. (ר' אלעזר) [ר' שמעון בן אלעזר] אומר כל הרוצה לשמוע משמיעין אותו.
