137. Patience may be classified under two heads: 1st. That which enables us to endure hardships without repining; and 2nd. That which prompts us to abstain from that which the Creator has interdicted.

138. The advantages of memory are twofold. 1st The recollection of patience under affliction; 2nd. But the most preferable is the remembrance of our Creator, which enables us to remove the barrier between us and Him.
