## Nahum Chapter 2

###### Nahum 2:1

הִנֵּ֨ה עַל־הֶהָרִ֜ים רַגְלֵ֤י מְבַשֵּׂר֙ מַשְׁמִ֣יעַ שָׁל֔וֹם חׇגִּ֧י יְהוּדָ֛ה חַגַּ֖יִךְ שַׁלְּמִ֣י נְדָרָ֑יִךְ כִּי֩ לֹ֨א יוֹסִ֥יף ע֛וֹד (לעבור) [לַעֲבׇר־]בָּ֥ךְ בְּלִיַּ֖עַל כֻּלֹּ֥ה נִכְרָֽת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that brings good tidings, that announces peace! O Yehuda, keep thy feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked one shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.


###### Nahum 2:2

עָלָ֥ה מֵפִ֛יץ עַל־פָּנַ֖יִךְ נָצ֣וֹר מְצוּרָ֑ה צַפֵּֽה־דֶ֙רֶךְ֙ חַזֵּ֣ק מׇתְנַ֔יִם אַמֵּ֥ץ כֹּ֖חַ מְאֹֽד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The batterer is come up against thee: guard the ramparts, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.


###### Nahum 2:3

כִּ֣י שָׁ֤ב יְהֹוָה֙ אֶת־גְּא֣וֹן יַעֲקֹ֔ב כִּגְא֖וֹן יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כִּ֤י בְקָקוּם֙ בֹּֽקְקִ֔ים וּזְמֹרֵיהֶ֖ם שִׁחֵֽתוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For the Lord restores the pride of Ya῾aqov, like the pride of Yisra᾽el: for plunderers have stripped them, and marred their vine branches.


###### Nahum 2:4

מָגֵ֨ן גִּבֹּרֵ֜יהוּ מְאׇדָּ֗ם אַנְשֵֽׁי־חַ֙יִל֙ מְתֻלָּעִ֔ים בְּאֵשׁ־פְּלָדֹ֥ת הָרֶ֖כֶב בְּי֣וֹם הֲכִינ֑וֹ וְהַבְּרֹשִׁ֖ים הׇרְעָֽלוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots glitter with steel in the day of his preparation, and the spears of cypress wood are brandished.


###### Nahum 2:5

בַּחוּצוֹת֙ יִתְהוֹלְל֣וּ הָרֶ֔כֶב יִֽשְׁתַּקְשְׁק֖וּן בָּרְחֹב֑וֹת מַרְאֵיהֶן֙ כַּלַּפִּידִ֔ים כַּבְּרָקִ֖ים יְרוֹצֵֽצוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall jostle one against another in the squares: they seem like torches, they run to and fro like lightnings.


###### Nahum 2:6

יִזְכֹּר֙ אַדִּירָ֔יו יִכָּשְׁל֖וּ (בהלכותם) [בַּהֲלִיכָתָ֑ם] יְמַֽהֲרוּ֙ חֽוֹמָתָ֔הּ וְהֻכַ֖ן הַסֹּכֵֽךְ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
He remembers his valiant men: they stumble in their walk; they make haste to its wall, and the screen is prepared.


###### Nahum 2:7

שַׁעֲרֵ֥י הַנְּהָר֖וֹת נִפְתָּ֑חוּ וְהַהֵיכָ֖ל נָמֽוֹג׃

The gates of the rivers are opened, and the palace is dissolved.


###### Nahum 2:8

וְהֻצַּ֖ב גֻּלְּתָ֣ה הֹֽעֲלָ֑תָה וְאַמְהֹתֶ֗יהָ מְנַֽהֲגוֹת֙ כְּק֣וֹל יוֹנִ֔ים מְתֹפְפֹ֖ת עַל־לִבְבֵהֶֽן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
It is set up; she is uncovered; she is carried away; and her maidens moan as with the voice of doves, drumming on their breasts.


###### Nahum 2:9

וְנִֽינְוֵ֥ה כִבְרֵכַת־מַ֖יִם מִ֣ימֵי הִ֑יא וְהֵ֣מָּה נָסִ֔ים עִמְד֥וּ עֲמֹ֖דוּ וְאֵ֥ין מַפְנֶֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
But Nineve is like a pool of water long established: yet they flee away. Halt, halt, they cry; but none turns back.

בֹּ֥זּוּ כֶ֖סֶף בֹּ֣זּוּ זָהָ֑ב וְאֵ֥ין קֵ֙צֶה֙ לַתְּכוּנָ֔ה כָּבֹ֕ד מִכֹּ֖ל כְּלִ֥י חֶמְדָּֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Take the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is no end of the store: there is an abundance of all precious vessels.


###### Nahum 2:11

בּוּקָ֥ה וּמְבוּקָ֖ה וּמְבֻלָּקָ֑ה וְלֵ֨ב נָמֵ֜ס וּפִ֣ק בִּרְכַּ֗יִם וְחַלְחָלָה֙ בְּכׇל־מׇתְנַ֔יִם וּפְנֵ֥י כֻלָּ֖ם קִבְּצ֥וּ פָארֽוּר׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melts, and the knees knock together, and there is trembling in all loins, and the faces of them all are covered with blackness.


###### Nahum 2:12

אַיֵּה֙ מְע֣וֹן אֲרָי֔וֹת וּמִרְעֶ֥ה ה֖וּא לַכְּפִרִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָלַךְ֩ אַרְיֵ֨ה לָבִ֥יא שָׁ֛ם גּ֥וּר אַרְיֵ֖ה וְאֵ֥ין מַחֲרִֽיד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Where is the den of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, and the lioness walked, and the lion’s whelp, and none made them afraid?


###### Nahum 2:13

אַרְיֵ֤ה טֹרֵף֙ בְּדֵ֣י גֹרוֹתָ֔יו וּמְחַנֵּ֖ק לְלִבְאֹתָ֑יו וַיְמַלֵּא־טֶ֣רֶף חֹרָ֔יו וּמְעֹנֹתָ֖יו טְרֵפָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.


###### Nahum 2:14

הִנְנִ֣י אֵלַ֗יִךְ נְאֻם֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וְהִבְעַרְתִּ֤י בֶעָשָׁן֙ רִכְבָּ֔הּ וּכְפִירַ֖יִךְ תֹּ֣אכַל חָ֑רֶב וְהִכְרַתִּ֤י מֵאֶ֙רֶץ֙ טַרְפֵּ֔ךְ וְלֹא־יִשָּׁמַ֥ע ע֖וֹד ק֥וֹל מַלְאָכֵֽכֵה׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Behold, I am against thee, says the Lord of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
