ארבעת מלין. בתנחומ' שם וגם בתנחומא שלנו כמה היה רחוק מיל, וכן מובא ברש"י על התורה וז"ל הרחק אלפים אמה והוא תחום שבת, ועיין רש"י ביהושע ג', ולזה כיון יב"ע שם תרין אלים אמין.

אמר רשב"ל שלשה דברים. בגמר' ברכות ז' ע"א ר' יוחנן בשם ר' יוסי הוא שם האומר, וקצת בסגנון אחר, ובמקום וביקש שיראה במדת רחמים, נאמר שם בקש להודיע דרכיו של הקב"ה וע"ש בפירש י:

מלמד שהשראה לו. מובא בלק"ט, ועין ר"ה י"ז ע"ב מלמד שנתעטף הקב"ה כשליח צבור והראה לו למשה סדר התפלה אמר לו כל זמן שישראל חוטאין יעשו לפני כסדר הזה ואני מוחל להם:

לפי ששאל הראני נא את כבודך מלמד שבקש. עיין ברכות ז' ע"א וברש"י שם, ובלק"ט הביא וז"ל מלמד שביקש משה לראות מתן שכר הצדיקים ושילום הרשעים ואמר לא תוכל לראות את פני, לא תוכל לעמוד על סוף מדת הדין:

ומכאן למדנו כי בשעת מיתה. וכן מובא בלק"ט, ובילקוט רמז רצ"ו הביא בשם פדר"א אין הנפש יוצא מן הגוף עד שתראה פני השכינה, ועיין ספרא ויקרא פ"ב בחייהם אינן רואים אבל רואים במתתם וכה"א לפניו יכרעו כל יורדי עפר וגו', וכ"ה במדרש במ"ר ספי"ד:
