ונעשה כמו שעוה. וכן הביא הלק"ט והי' צוארו של יעקב של שיש ושיניו של עשו של שעוה. והעירותי שם בהערה י' זה ליתא בב"ר, רק וקהו שיניו של אותו רשע, אולם במדרש חזית סיים ונמסו כדונג, ובפדר"א פל"ז וקהו שיניו של עשו:

ולמה אמר יוסף ב"ר פע"ח אות י', ילקוט רמז קל"ג, ור"ל בכלן האמהות נגשות לפני הבנים, אבל ברחל יוסף נגש לפניה, הקדים יוסף לרחל, שלא יתלה עיניו ויביט את אמו וגבהה קומתו וכסה אותה, וכן הביא רש"י ולקח טוב:

ולפיכך אין עין רעה שולטת בזרעו של יוסף. בב"ר הוא דכתב ביה בן פורת יוסף בן פורת עלי עין (בראשית מ״ט:כ״ב), וברש"י עה"ת הביא מכאן זכה יוסף לברכת עלי עין:

ולמה מזכיר יעקב שמו של הקב". עיין רש"י עה"ת שהביא וז"ל ולמה הזכיר לו ראיית המלאך כדי שיתיירא הימנו ויאמר ראה מלאכים וניצול איני יכול לו מעתה, לכן פירש כראות פני אלהים מלאכים, וכן בלקח טוב כראות פני אלהים הודיעו שהמלאך נתאבק עמו ויוכל לו:

מיד ביקש מיעקב שינחל חצי העולם הזה והוא ינחל חצי העולם הבא. בלקח טוב הביא וז"ל מדרש, אמר לו עשו נחלוק העוה"ז והעוה"ב כו', והעירותי שם בהערה כ"ד במדרש ב"ר לא נמצא הדרשה, רק נמצא בקצת שינויים בתנא דבי אליהו זוטא פרק י"ט, ובילקוט רמז קי"א על הכתוב מכרה כיום מובא המאמר הזה, ומצויין בטעות פדר"א, ויש לתקן שצ"ל תדב"א, וז"ל שם: אמרו כשהיו יעקב ועשו במעי אמן אמר יעקב לעשו כו'. טול אתה העוה"ז חצי והעוה"ב חצי, ואני אטול חצי, א"ל יעקב לעשו אדוני יודע כי הילדים רכים ואינם יכולים לעמוד ביסורין, שנאמר ודפקום יום אחד ומתו כל הצאן וגו'. ובילקוט רמז ק"י הביא בשם מדרש אבכיר שהיו חולקין בשביל העוה"ז והעוה"ב ע"ש. ועיין בתנחומא שלנו תרומה אות ז':
