ולא שהיה סריס בביצים. עיין סוטה שם וברש״‬י. ובערוך ערך פטיפר. שגורס בגמ׳‬ שם בא גבריאל וסירסו. ובב״‬ר פפ״‬ו. פוטיפרע שהיה פורע עצמו לעבודת כוכבים כיון שירד הפר לשם נעשה פויטנון סריס פרעה שנסתרס בגופו כו׳‬. ובערוך ערך פטינון הביא וז״‬ל בב״‬ר פפ״‬ז [צ״‬ל פפ״‬ו] כיון שירד הפר לשם נעשה פוטינון סריס פרעה שנסתרס בגופו ועל זה כתב המוספי אולי מלשון זה מה שהובא במדרש קהלת עבד בן אפטניות פי׳‬ היה עושה סריסים עכ״‬ל. וטעה במח״‬כ כי חשב מה שסיים הערוך סריס פרעה שנסתרס בגופו הוא הפי׳‬ על פוטינון. ובאמת זה מאמר בפני עצמו במדרש ואינו מוסב למעלה. והערוך הביא לשון המדרש אבל לא לפרש מלת פוטינון ופי׳‬ כיון שירד הפר לשם היינו יוסף נעשה אדונו עשיר ובעל מקנה עיין במ״‬כ.

א״‬ל פני זאת את יכולה לכסות. בב״‬ר הדין אפא כסית. פי׳‬ פנים. אולם בילקוט הגי׳‬ הלין אפיא כסית ומפרש בצדו פי׳‬ אלהות שאין בו ממש. מפרש עפ״‬י הערוך ערך אפיא ובפסיקתא פסקא שובה בהערה ק״‬ס העירותי על המאמר כל אפיא שווין. שבמדרש דב״‬ר פ׳‬ ואתחנן אני אומר ח״‬ו כל הפנים שוות. היה כתוב בתחלה כל אפיא שוות. והמעתיק טעה שחשב כי מלת אפיא היא ארמית מלשון פנים כי תר׳‬ פנים אפי. ולא ידע שהיא מלה רומית Opes. ופי׳‬ כח. וענינו עולה יפה אם אינה עונה אותי אז אני אומר כי כתות כל אלהות שוין ואין יתרון לאחד על השני. והנה בערוך ערך אפיא הביא המאמר מהפסיקתא. ובערך ההוא כתב וז״‬ל בחלק אמר קמיה רבון דעלמא אי ענית ליה [מוטב] ואי לא אמינא הא כל אפיא שוין עכ״‬ל. והעיר על זה הגאון הרי״‬ב בהפלאה שבערכין כי זה ליתא בגמרא סנהדרין ק״‬א ע״‬ב. ולשיטתיה זאת הלך בהגהותיו לש״‬ם סנהדרין שם. ובמח״‬כ נעלם ממנו שכוונת הערוך לגמרא ירושלמי סנהדרין פ״‬י ה״‬ב. אך המלה ״‬בירושלמי״‬ נשמט במקרה.
