**הכלל הא׳ באמונת החדוש:** ולפי שהמפרשים לספרי ארסטו הרבו דברים וטענו טענות לקיים אמונת הקדמות והיה הרב המורה השיב על הטענות ההם וחדש טענות כנגד הקדמות לקיים המדרש. והיה הר״ל נתאמץ עוד ויסד מופתים והרבה טענות לקיים החדוש והשיב על דברי הרב אין המלט מלהביא דבריהם ביותר קצר שאפשר ולברר מהם הצודק מהבלתי צודק לקיים קצורינו. ולזה ראינו לחלק הכלל הזה לחמשה פרקים.
