###### Proverbs 12:1

אֹהֵ֣ב מ֭וּסָר אֹ֣הֵֽב דָּ֑עַת וְשׂוֹנֵ֖א תוֹכַ֣חַת בָּֽעַר׃

Whoever loves knowledge loves discipline: but he who hates reproof is stupid.

He who loves chastisement loves wisdom, but he who hates rebuke is a boor.

A good man obtains favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

The words of the wicked are a siege upon blood [i.e., they seek to kill], but the mouth of the just will rescue them [(their intended victims)].

A man shall be commended according to his intelligence: but he that is of perverse mind shall be despised.

Better is one lightly esteemed who owns a servant, than one who pranks himself but lacks bread.

A righteous man regards the life of his beast: but the heart of the wicked is cruel.

The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

By the sin of the lips [(of the generation of the flood, who said [Job 21:15]: "What is G-d that we should serve Him?")], an evil snare [(the flood, consumed them)], but the righteous one [(Noah)] escaped calamity.

A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompense of a man’s hands shall be rendered to him.

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkens unto counsel is wise.

A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man conceals disgrace.

###### Proverbs 12:17

He who utters truth gives just evidence: but a false witness utters deceit.

There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Deceit is in the heart of those who imagine evil: but the counsellors of peace have joy.

No evil shall happen to the just: but the wicked are filled with mischief.

Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they who deal truly are his delight.

The slothful man does not roast his catch: but the industrious man arrives at precious wealth.
