## Psalms Chapter 125

###### Psalms 125:1

שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת הַבֹּטְחִ֥ים בַּיהֹוָ֑ה כְּֽהַר־צִיּ֥וֹן לֹא־יִ֝מּ֗וֹט לְעוֹלָ֥ם יֵשֵֽׁב׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
A Ma῾alot Poem. They who trust in the Lord shall be like mount Żiyyon, which cannot be removed, but abides for ever.

**The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein:**
A song of ascents. Those who trust in the L rd are as Mount Zion, which will not be moved and forever abide.


###### Psalms 125:2

יְֽרוּשָׁלַ֗͏ִם הָרִים֮ סָבִ֢יב לָ֥֫הּ וַ֭יהֹוָה סָבִ֣יב לְעַמּ֑וֹ מֵ֝עַתָּ֗ה וְעַד־עוֹלָֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
As the mountains are round about Yerushalayim, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth and forever.

**The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein:**
[For, as] mountains encircle Jerusalem, the L rd encircles His people, henceforth and forevermore.


###### Psalms 125:3

כִּ֤י לֹ֪א יָנ֡וּחַ שֵׁ֤בֶט הָרֶ֗שַׁע עַל֮ גּוֹרַ֢ל הַֽצַּדִּ֫יקִ֥ים לְמַ֡עַן לֹא־יִשְׁלְח֖וּ הַצַּדִּיקִ֨ים בְּעַוְלָ֬תָה יְדֵיהֶֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the share allotted to the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands to do wrong.

**The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein:**
For the sceptre of wickedness will not rest upon the lot of the righteous, for the righteous do not send forth their hands to wrong.


###### Psalms 125:4

הֵיטִ֣יבָה יְ֭הֹוָה לַטּוֹבִ֑ים וְ֝לִישָׁרִ֗ים בְּלִבּוֹתָֽם׃

Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts.

The L rd does good to the good and to those who are just in their hearts.


###### Psalms 125:5

וְהַמַּטִּ֤ים עֲֽקַלְקַלּוֹתָ֗ם יוֹלִיכֵ֣ם יְ֭הֹוָה אֶת־פֹּעֲלֵ֣י הָאָ֑וֶן שָׁ֝ל֗וֹם עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
As for such as turn aside to their crooked ways, the Lord shall lead them away with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Yisra᾽el.

But those who turn their crookedness [against men to libel them] will be dispatched by the L rd with the workers of iniquity — peace upon Israel!
