## Psalms Chapter 128

###### Psalms 128:1

שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת אַ֭שְׁרֵי כׇּל־יְרֵ֣א יְהֹוָ֑ה הַ֝הֹלֵ֗ךְ בִּדְרָכָֽיו׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
A Ma῾alot Poem. Happy is everyone who fears the Lord; who walks in his ways.

A song of ascents. Happy all who fear the L rd, who walk in His ways.

יְגִ֣יעַ כַּ֭פֶּיךָ כִּ֣י תֹאכֵ֑ל אַ֝שְׁרֶ֗יךָ וְט֣וֹב לָֽךְ׃

For thou shalt eat the labour of thy hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

When you eat the toil of your hands, fortunate are you [(in this world)], and it is good unto you [(in the world to come)].

אֶשְׁתְּךָ֤**׀** כְּגֶ֥פֶן פֹּרִיָּה֮ בְּיַרְכְּתֵ֢י בֵ֫יתֶ֥ךָ בָּ֭נֶיךָ כִּשְׁתִלֵ֣י זֵיתִ֑ים סָ֝בִ֗יב לְשֻׁלְחָנֶֽךָ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thy wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the recesses of thy house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

Your wife [will be] like a fruitful vine in the recesses of your house [(modesty being preserved in marital relations)]; your sons, like olive shoots [(pure, "ungrafted,")] around your table.

הִנֵּ֣ה כִי־כֵ֭ן יְבֹ֥רַךְ גָּ֗בֶר יְרֵ֣א יְהֹוָֽה׃

###### Psalms 128:5

יְבָרֶכְךָ֥ יְהֹוָ֗ה מִצִּ֫יּ֥וֹן וּ֭רְאֵה בְּט֣וּב יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם כֹּ֝֗ל יְמֵ֣י חַיֶּֽיךָ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The Lord shall bless thee out of Żiyyon: and thou shalt see the good of Yerushalayim all the days of thy life.

The L rd will bless you from Zion [(the gate of heaven and a source of fruitfulness, viz. I Kings 4:20)], and you will see the goodness of Jerusalem [and rejoice in all of the good] all the days of your life.


###### Psalms 128:6

וּרְאֵֽה־בָנִ֥ים לְבָנֶ֑יךָ שָׁ֝ל֗וֹם עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃{פ}

And thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Yisra᾽el.

And you will see children unto your children, [and there will be] peace upon Israel [(levirate linkage [and attendant disputes over inheritance] not obtaining in such an instance)].
