###### Psalms 145:1

תְּהִלָּ֗ה לְדָ֫וִ֥ד אֲרוֹמִמְךָ֣ אֱלוֹהַ֣י הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַאֲבָרְכָ֥ה שִׁ֝מְךָ֗ לְעוֹלָ֥ם וָעֶֽד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
A Praise of David. I will extol Thee, my God, O king; and I will bless Thy name for ever and ever.

A Tehillah [(praise)], of David. I shall exalt You, O G d, the King, and I will bless Your name forever.


###### Psalms 145:2

בְּכׇל־י֥וֹם אֲבָרְכֶ֑ךָּ וַאֲהַלְלָ֥ה שִׁ֝מְךָ֗ לְעוֹלָ֥ם וָעֶֽד׃

Every day I will bless Thee; and I will praise Thy name for ever and ever.

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

Great is the L rd and greatly praised; there is no searching out His greatness.


###### Psalms 145:4

דּ֣וֹר לְ֭דוֹר יְשַׁבַּ֣ח מַעֲשֶׂ֑יךָ וּגְב֖וּרֹתֶ֣יךָ יַגִּֽידוּ׃

One generation shall praise Thy works to another, and shall declare Thy mighty acts.

One generation to another shall praise Your deeds and recount Your [acts of] strength.

I will speak of the glorious splendour of Thy majesty, and of Thy wondrous works.

וֶעֱז֣וּז נֽוֹרְאֹתֶ֣יךָ יֹאמֵ֑רוּ (וגדלותיך) [וּגְדֻלָּתְךָ֥] אֲסַפְּרֶֽנָּה׃

And men shall speak of the might of Thy terrible acts: and I will declare Thy greatness.

###### Psalms 145:7

זֵ֣כֶר רַב־טוּבְךָ֣ יַבִּ֑יעוּ וְצִדְקָתְךָ֥ יְרַנֵּֽנוּ׃

They shall utter the fame of Thy great goodness, and shall sing of Thy righteousness.

The remembrance of the abundance of Your good shall they express, and Your righteousness shall they sing.

חַנּ֣וּן וְרַח֣וּם יְהֹוָ֑ה אֶ֥רֶךְ אַ֝פַּ֗יִם וּגְדׇל־חָֽסֶד׃

The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of abundant love.

to make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.

מַֽלְכוּתְךָ֗ מַלְכ֥וּת כׇּל־עֹלָמִ֑ים וּ֝מֶֽמְשַׁלְתְּךָ֗ בְּכׇל־דּ֥וֹר וָדֹֽר׃

Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Thy dominion endures throughout all generations.

Your kingdom is a kingdom over all the worlds, and Your reign is throughout the generations.


###### Psalms 145:14

סוֹמֵ֣ךְ יְ֭הֹוָה לְכׇל־הַנֹּפְלִ֑ים וְ֝זוֹקֵ֗ף לְכׇל־הַכְּפוּפִֽים׃

The Lord upholds all that fall, and raises up all those who are bowed down.

**The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein:**
[The aleph-beth arrangement of the verses is broken at this point by the absence of a verse for the nun, David foreseeing a great fall (nefilah) for Israel — and then, recovery from that fall intimated in the next (samech - "support") verse, viz.:] The L rd supports (somech) all the falling (noflim) and He straightens all the bent.


###### Psalms 145:15

עֵֽינֵי־כֹ֭ל אֵלֶ֣יךָ יְשַׂבֵּ֑רוּ וְאַתָּ֤ה נֽוֹתֵן־לָהֶ֖ם אֶת־אׇכְלָ֣ם בְּעִתּֽוֹ׃

The eyes of all wait upon Thee; and Thou givest them their food in due season.

The eyes of all aspire to You, and You give them their sustenance in its time.

Thou openest Thy hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

You open Your hand and You satisfy [the needs of] all living things [with] favor.


###### Psalms 145:17

The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and gracious in all his works.

The Lord is near to all those who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.

He will fulfil the desire of those who fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

The Lord preserves all those who love him: but all the wicked he will destroy.

My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
