אֲהַלְלָ֣ה יְהֹוָ֣ה בְּחַיָּ֑י אֲזַמְּרָ֖ה לֵאלֹהַ֣י בְּעוֹדִֽי׃

While I live I will praise the Lord: I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

His breath goes forth, he returns to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

[When] his spirit leaves, he returns to his earth [from which he was taken. And at that time] all of his thoughts are lost.

אַשְׁרֵ֗י שֶׁ֤אֵ֣ל יַעֲקֹ֣ב בְּעֶזְר֑וֹ שִׂ֝בְר֗וֹ עַל־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽיו׃

Happy is he who has the God of Ya῾aqov for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

עֹשֶׂ֤ה**׀** שָׁ֘מַ֤יִם וָאָ֗רֶץ אֶת־הַיָּ֥ם וְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֑ם הַשֹּׁמֵ֖ר אֱמֶ֣ת לְעוֹלָֽם׃

who made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is in them: who keeps truth forever.

[For He is] the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and all that is therein [(so that He can protect him in all of these elements)], the keeper of truth [(the truth of His assurance)] forever.

עֹשֶׂ֤ה מִשְׁפָּ֨ט**׀** לָעֲשׁוּקִ֗ים נֹתֵ֣ן לֶ֭חֶם לָרְעֵבִ֑ים יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה מַתִּ֥יר אֲסוּרִֽים׃

Who executes judgment for the oppressed: who gives bread to the hungry. The Lord looses the prisoners:

יְהֹוָ֤ה**׀** פֹּ֘קֵ֤חַ עִוְרִ֗ים יְ֭הֹוָה זֹקֵ֣ף כְּפוּפִ֑ים יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה אֹהֵ֥ב צַדִּיקִֽים׃

the Lord opens the eyes of the blind: the Lord raises those who are bowed down: the Lord loves the righteous:

The L rd gives sight to the blind. The L rd straightens the bowed. The L rd loves the righteous.


###### Psalms 146:9

יְהֹוָ֤ה**׀** שֹׁ֘מֵ֤ר אֶת־גֵּרִ֗ים יָת֣וֹם וְאַלְמָנָ֣ה יְעוֹדֵ֑ד וְדֶ֖רֶךְ רְשָׁעִ֣ים יְעַוֵּֽת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
the Lord preserves the strangers; he relieves the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he makes crooked.

The L rd keeps the converts. He heartens the orphan and the widow, and He makes crooked the way of the wicked.

יִמְלֹ֤ךְ יְהֹוָ֨ה**׀** לְעוֹלָ֗ם אֱלֹהַ֣יִךְ צִ֭יּוֹן לְדֹ֥ר וָדֹ֗ר הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃{פ}

The Lord shall reign forever, thy God, O Żiyyon, to all generations. Haleluya!
