מִזְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִ֑ד בְּ֝בׇרְח֗וֹ מִפְּנֵ֤י**׀** אַבְשָׁל֬וֹם בְּנֽוֹ׃

יְ֭הֹוָה מָה־רַבּ֣וּ צָרָ֑י רַ֝בִּ֗ים קָמִ֥ים עָלָֽי׃

Lord, how many are my enemies become! many are they who rise up against me:

O L rd, how many are my enemies! Great ones [(in Torah, in wisdom, in wealth, and in stature)] have risen against me.

רַבִּים֮ אֹמְרִ֢ים לְנַ֫פְשִׁ֥י אֵ֤ין יְֽשׁוּעָ֓תָה לּ֬וֹ בֵאלֹהִ֬ים סֶֽלָה׃

many there be who say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. (Sela.)

Great ones have said of my soul: There shall be no salvation for him from G d forever [(because of the episode of Bathsheva)].

וְאַתָּ֣ה יְ֭הֹוָה מָגֵ֣ן בַּעֲדִ֑י כְּ֝בוֹדִ֗י וּמֵרִ֥ים רֹאשִֽׁי׃

But Thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head.

But you, O L rd, are a shield for me, my honor, and the lifter of my head.

ק֭וֹלִי אֶל־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֶקְרָ֑א וַיַּעֲנֵ֨נִי מֵהַ֖ר קׇדְשׁ֣וֹ סֶֽלָה׃

I cried to the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. (Sela.)

When I call with my voice to the L rd, He shall answer me from His holy mountain, for all time.

אֲנִ֥י שָׁכַ֗בְתִּי וָאִ֫ישָׁ֥נָה הֱקִיצ֑וֹתִי כִּ֖י יְהֹוָ֣ה יִסְמְכֵֽנִי׃

I lie me down and sleep; I awake; for the Lord sustains me.

I lay down and slept [in sorrow]. I awoke [from my sorrow, secure] that the L rd would sustain me.

לֹֽא־אִ֭ירָא מֵרִבְב֥וֹת עָ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר סָ֝בִ֗יב שָׁ֣תוּ עָלָֽי׃

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

[Therefore,] I shall not fear the multitude of people [who are with Avshalom], who, roundabout, have beset me.


###### Psalms 3:8

ק֘וּמָ֤ה יְהֹוָ֨ה**׀** הוֹשִׁ֘יעֵ֤נִי אֱלֹהַ֗י כִּֽי־הִכִּ֣יתָ אֶת־כׇּל־אֹיְבַ֣י לֶ֑חִי שִׁנֵּ֖י רְשָׁעִ֣ים שִׁבַּֽרְתָּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for Thou hast smitten all my enemies upon the cheek; Thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked.

Arise, O L rd! Save me, my G d! For You have [ever] smitten the cheek of all my foes [i.e., You have mortified them]; You have [ever] broken the teeth [i.e., the strength] of evildoers.


###### Psalms 3:9

לַֽיהֹוָ֥ה הַיְשׁוּעָ֑ה עַֽל־עַמְּךָ֖ בִרְכָתֶ֣ךָ סֶּֽלָה׃{פ}

Salvation belongs to the Lord: Thy blessing be upon Thy people. (Sela.)
