###### Psalms 30:1

מִזְמ֡וֹר שִׁיר־חֲנֻכַּ֖ת הַבַּ֣יִת לְדָוִֽד׃

A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house; of David.

A psalm, a song [(to be chanted by the Levites)], for the consecration of the house [(the Temple, in the days of Solomon)], of David.


###### Psalms 30:2

אֲרוֹמִמְךָ֣ יְ֭הֹוָה כִּ֣י דִלִּיתָ֑נִי וְלֹֽא־שִׂמַּ֖חְתָּ אֹיְבַ֣י לִֽי׃

I will extol Thee, O Lord; for Thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

**The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein:**
I shall exalt You, O L rd, for You have uplifted me and did not let my foes rejoice over me. [(My foes said that I had no share in the world to come [because of the sin with Bathsheva], but when they saw that the Temple gates would not open to admit the ark until my merits had been invoked [viz. 24:7], they knew that G d had forgiven me.)]

יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָ֑י שִׁוַּ֥עְתִּי אֵ֝לֶ֗יךָ וַתִּרְפָּאֵֽנִי׃

O Lord my God, I cried to Thee and Thou hast healed me.

O L rd, my G d, I cried out to You, and You healed me [i.e., forgave me].


###### Psalms 30:4

יְֽהֹוָ֗ה הֶעֱלִ֣יתָ מִן־שְׁא֣וֹל נַפְשִׁ֑י חִ֝יִּיתַ֗נִי (מיורדי) [מִיׇּֽרְדִי־]בֽוֹר׃

O Lord, Thou hast brought up my soul from She᾽ol: Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

O L rd, You raised my soul from Sheol; You spared me from descent to the pit [(Gehinnom)].

זַמְּר֣וּ לַיהֹוָ֣ה חֲסִידָ֑יו וְ֝הוֹד֗וּ לְזֵ֣כֶר קׇדְשֽׁוֹ׃

Sing to the Lord, O his pious ones, and give thanks to his holy name.

Sing to the L rd, [you,] His saintly ones, [(for though you be steeped in affliction, you can trust to His goodness [seeing what He has done for me])], and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness.


###### Psalms 30:6

כִּ֤י רֶ֨גַע**׀** בְּאַפּוֹ֮ חַיִּ֢ים בִּרְצ֫וֹנ֥וֹ בָּ֭עֶרֶב יָלִ֥ין בֶּ֗כִי וְלַבֹּ֥קֶר רִנָּֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For his anger endures but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

For His wrath is [but] a moment; there is [long] life in His conciliation. Weeping shall bed down in the evening; and, in the morning, joy [shall awake]!

וַ֭אֲנִי אָמַ֣רְתִּי בְשַׁלְוִ֑י בַּל־אֶמּ֥וֹט לְעוֹלָֽם׃

And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.

יְֽהֹוָ֗ה בִּרְצוֹנְךָ֮ הֶעֱמַ֢דְתָּה לְֽהַרְרִ֫י־עֹ֥ז הִסְתַּ֥רְתָּ פָנֶ֗יךָ הָיִ֥יתִי נִבְהָֽל׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Lord, by Thy favour Thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: Thou didst hide Thy face, and I was affrighted.

[But, I found that my tranquility was not mine to command.] O, L rd, in Your favor You set up my mountain [i.e., my greatness] as a stronghold — You hid Your face, and I was confounded!

אֵלֶ֣יךָ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֶקְרָ֑א וְאֶל־אֲ֝דֹנָ֗י אֶתְחַנָּֽן׃

I cried to Thee, O Lord; and to the Lord I made supplication.

מַה־בֶּ֥צַע בְּדָמִי֮ בְּרִדְתִּ֢י אֶ֫ל־שָׁ֥חַת הֲיוֹדְךָ֥ עָפָ֑ר הֲיַגִּ֥יד אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃

What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall dust praise Thee? shall it declare Thy truth?

הָפַ֣כְתָּ מִסְפְּדִי֮ לְמָח֢וֹל לִ֥֫י פִּתַּ֥חְתָּ שַׂקִּ֑י וַֽתְּאַזְּרֵ֥נִי שִׂמְחָֽה׃

Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

You have turned my mourning to a dance for me. You have loosened my [mourning] sack and girded me with joy.


###### Psalms 30:13

לְמַ֤עַן**׀** יְזַמֶּרְךָ֣ כָ֭בוֹד וְלֹ֣א יִדֹּ֑ם יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י לְעוֹלָ֥ם אוֹדֶֽךָּ׃{פ}

to the end that my glory may sing praise to Thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to Thee forever.

So that my soul sing to You and not be silent. O L rd, my G d, forever shall I praise You.
