## Psalms Chapter 43

###### Psalms 43:1

שׇׁפְטֵ֤נִי אֱלֹהִ֨ים**׀** וְרִ֘יבָ֤ה רִיבִ֗י מִגּ֥וֹי לֹֽא־חָסִ֑יד מֵ֤אִישׁ־מִרְמָ֖ה וְעַוְלָ֣ה תְפַלְּטֵֽנִי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

**The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein:**
Judge me [i.e., Avenge me], O L rd, and fight my battle against a saintless nation [(Yishmael)]. Deliver me from the man of deceit and wrong.

כִּי־אַתָּ֤ה**׀** אֱלֹהֵ֣י מָעוּזִּי֮ לָמָ֢ה זְנַ֫חְתָּ֥נִי לָֽמָּה־קֹדֵ֥ר אֶתְהַלֵּ֗ךְ בְּלַ֣חַץ אוֹיֵֽב׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For Thou art the God of my strength: why dost Thou cast me off? why go I mourning under the oppression of the enemy?

For You, O L rd, are my strength. Why should You forsake me? Why should I walk in darkness in the toils of the foe?

שְׁלַח־אוֹרְךָ֣ וַ֭אֲמִתְּךָ הֵ֣מָּה יַנְח֑וּנִי יְבִיא֥וּנִי אֶל־הַֽר־קׇ֝דְשְׁךָ֗ וְאֶל־מִשְׁכְּנוֹתֶֽיךָ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
O send out Thy light and Thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me to Thy holy hill, and to Thy dwelling places.

Send Your light [(the king, Messiah)] and Your truth [(Elijah the prophet)] — let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your holy mountain and to Your dwelling.


###### Psalms 43:4

וְאָב֤וֹאָה**׀** אֶל־מִזְבַּ֬ח אֱלֹהִ֗ים אֶל־אֵל֮ שִׂמְחַ֢ת גִּ֫ילִ֥י וְאוֹדְךָ֥ בְכִנּ֗וֹר אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֱלֹהָֽי׃

Then will I go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy: and I will praise thee with the lyre, O God my God.

And I will come to the altar of G d, to the Almighty, the joy of my regaling; and I will praise You with the harp, O G d, my G d [for having delivered me from my exile].

מַה־תִּשְׁתּ֬וֹחֲחִ֨י**׀** נַפְשִׁי֮ וּֽמַה־תֶּהֱמִ֢י עָ֫לָ֥י הוֹחִ֣ילִי לֵ֭אלֹהִים כִּי־ע֣וֹד אוֹדֶ֑נּוּ יְשׁוּעֹ֥ת פָּ֝נַ֗י וֵאלֹהָֽי׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why dost thou moan within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Why are you bowed down, my soul, and [why do you] make moan over me? Hope in G d, for I will yet thank him, the salvations [i.e., the light] of my countenance and my G d.
