**ולא אבה ה' לסלוח.** ר"ל כי אף ע"פ שעשה מנשה תשובה לא אבה הש"י לסלוח שפיכתו הדם הנקי וידמה שבכלל עבדי ה' אשר הרג ישעיה בן אמוץ על אשר היה מוכיח אותו וכן אמרו רז"ל כי מנשה הרג ישעיהו:

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**and the LORD would not pardon:** This means that even though Menasseh repented, God was not willing to forgive his spilling of innocent blood. And it would seem that this included servants of the Lord - that he killed Isaiah son of Amoz because of how he reproached him. And thus our teachers of blessed memory said that Menasseh killed Isaiah.

**ולא הוסיף עוד מלך מצרים לצאת מארצו.** אמר זה להעיר כי לקח השם יתברך נקמת יאשיהו ממנו שהרגו בעלותו להלחם על נהר פרת:

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land:** This is said to remark that God took vengeance against him for Josiah, whom he killed when he went up to fight near the river Euphrates.

**ויצא יהויכין מלך יהודה על מלך בבל.** ר"ל שיצא במצור מלך בבל כשמעו שהוא בא שם להשלים עמו ולשום צוארו תחת עולו והנה לא רצה להשלים עמו אך הגלה אותו אל בבל הו' ואמו ועבדיו ושריו וסריסיו בשנת שמנה למלכות נבוכדנצר מלך בבל שעברו לו ז' שנים שלמות:

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon:** This means that he went out during the King of Babylon's siege, when they heard that he had come there, to make peace with him and to place his neck under his yoke. But he (the King of Babylon) didn't want to make peace with him, so he exiled him to Babylon - him, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers, in the eighth year of rather reign of Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon - seven full years had passed for him.

**ואת כל אנשי החיל שבעת אלפים.** והנה אמר למעלה י' אלפים ובספר ירמיה אמר שבשנת שבע למלכות נבוכדנצר הגלה יהודי' שלשת אלפים ועשדים ושלשה וידמה שמה שאמר בספר ירמיה בשנת שבע ר"ל שעבדו לנבוכדנצר ז' שנים ולזה אמר בזה המקום בשנת ח' ואולם מספר הגבורים ידמה כמו שפי' רבינו דוד קמחי כי בתחלה ספר כל גבורי החיל הגולים מיהודה ובנימין ואחר כן פרט בזה המקום הגבורים שהיו משבט בנימין ובספר ירמיה פרט הגבורים שהיו משבט יהודה ולזה קראם יהודים:

**כי על אף ה' היתה בירושלם וביהודה עד השליכו אותם מעל פניו.** ר"ל כי מחמת מוקשי העם וכעס הש"י עליהם נהיה שימליכו עליהם אלו הרעים ולזה גם כן היתה הסבה שמרד צדקיהו במלך בבל כי לולי מרדו לא נחרבה ירושלים ולא גלו מעל אדמתם כמו שהיה אומר לו ירמיהו:
