**הן**יקר ראתה עיני בהגלות נגלות לפני הכת"י מהספר שו"ת בני בנים מהרב הגאון המפורסם וכו' מוה"ר יהודה הרצל הנקין שליט"א רב אזורי לבקעת בית שאן בא"י ונכד האי גאון וצדיק שהאיר פני תבל באור תורתו שאתו וצדקתו, שר התורה וגאון החסד וכו' וכו' מרן רי"א הענקין זצ"ל שזכיתי להכירו ולהנות מזיו תורתו ושאתו. אמרתי ובכן יש להודות ולהלל לא־ל החונן לאדם דעת, כי הגדיל חסדו על יראיו וצדקתו לבני בנים להנחיל מורשה לזרע אבות הגדולים והקדושים ממשיכי שלשלת היוחסין לזכות את הרבים בחידושי תורה ובירורי שמעתתא, ומהמעט שראיתי בהנהו הלכתא שביאר המחבר טעמתי בהם טעם לשבח בשערים המצוינים בהלכה, והחלק מעיד על כולו כי זכות הסבא קדישא זצ"ל הפוסק בדורו כחד מדרי קדמאי עמד לו להמחבר לאזרו בזרוע עם גבורה לישא וליתן במלחמתה של תורה, הן בגמרא והן בסברא קולע אל השערה כאחד מן הגבורים אשר לבית ישראל מאירים. וזאת באתי להודיע, כי אין אני מאלה הראוים להעיד ולהיות מהמסכימים להדפיס ספרים, אלא מפני כבוד הרב הגאון המחבר שליט"א דאוקיר לי' באורייתא דילי לסבו הגאון הגדול וכו' כמבואר בזוה"ק סוף בחקותי דבן יכבד אב וה"ה לבני בנים לאבות זקנם שנעשים עטרה בתורתם וחכמתם ולנייחא נפשא בעלמא דקשוט.

**הרב**הגאון הנעלה מוה"ר יהודה הרצל הנקין שליט"א רב אזורי לבקעת בית שאן הגיש לפני מספר גליונות מספרו ההולך ומדפיס ונקרא בשם "בני בנים", עברתי עליהם וראיתי שכחו רב לשאת ולתת בענינים הנוגעים להלכה, וכבר־אמוראי צולל במים אדירים של מי התלמודים וגדולי הפוסקים ומעלה פנינים יקרים הראוים לעלות על שלחן מלכים, והיתה לי שמחה מיוחדת באשר הוא צאצא של אותו גאון וצדיק הגרי"א הענקין זצ"ל ותורה מחזרת על אכסניא שלה, ועטרת זקנים בני בנים.

**הייתי**רוצה לבוא במו"מ בהלכה בכמה מדבריו כדרכה של תורה, אבל רבו טרדותי בהקפת כל הראש ואין בידי לעשות זאת, אבל אומר בפה מלא: כל מן דין סמוכי לנא רב גדול בתורה שיראתו קודמת לחכמתו, ובידו חבילות חבילות אוצרות תורה ויראה מתורת זקנו הגדול והנהגותיו בקודש, וזכה לשמשו הרבה והרי גדולה שימושה יותר מלימודה.

**מכתבו**היקר רצוף חידושי תורה קבלתי ושמחתי לראות בני בנים לאותו צדיק וקדוש עוסקים בתורה ומצות וקראתי עליו פרי צדיק עץ חיים וגו', וברכתי ברכת הנהנין על ח"ת ששלח והגם שאפס קצהו ראיתי וכולו לא ראיתי מ"מ מקצתו מעיד על כולו ונראה הילוך רוחו נאה דורש סותר ובונה שקיל וטרי בהלכתא רבתא וזכותא דסבא קדישא מסייע לו, וי"ר שיזכה להפיץ מעינותיו חוצה ויזכה לכוין שמעתתא אליבא דהלכתא. ובענין הסכמה שבקש ממני הנה באמת שקשה לי להסכים על דברים והלכות שלא ראיתי ולמה ליה להביא ממרחק לחמו והלא אתו עמו שם החרש והמסגיר גדולי עולם, והנני לברכו שיזכה להפיץ מעינותיו חוצה ללמוד וללמד ויהיו דבריו נשמעים וישמעו רחוקים ויבואו ויתנו לו כתר תורה כאות נפשו וכעתירת ידידו דושכ"ת בלב ונפש.

**ראה**ראיתי עלים לתרופה מספרו החשוב אשר פיו קבעו בשם "בני בנים" והוא שו"ת על ד' חלקי שו"ע. שמחתי בראותי שכת"ר חורז וקודח. מקיף את הבעיא מכל צדדיה ראשונים ואחרונים, וכל רז לא אניס ליה. מגלה בקיאות מפתיעה והבנה ישרה. אשרי העם שככה לו. ומאד חשקה נפשי להתענג ולהשתעשע עם כת"ר בד"ת ובפלפולה אבל מה שהלב חושק הזמן עושק.
