In Midrash Avkhir and Yalkut Bereishit, section 34, it says that when the Holy One, Blessed be He, sought to create the world, the beginning of His creation was only man, and He made him a golem (a body without a soul), so that it would not be said that He had a partner in the act of creation. Adam HaRishon, "and they were not ashamed," did not come at six, so Adam sinned at midday, and so wrote the Yefe"t. And the book Tuv Ta'am VeDa'at, Orach Chaim (section 443) questioned, "But Adam HaRishon sinned in the tenth hour, so how can it be said they did not come at six?" The answer is that the beginning of Adam HaRishon's preparation was the sixth hour, because then his dust was heaped up, as our Sages of blessed memory said (I have not found this that his dust was heaped up in the sixth hour), therefore he needed to be careful not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge at least until six hours from the time his dust was heaped up. And in Tosefta: Adam and Eve, and Cain and his twin sister, but Abel and his two twin sisters were not born at this time, therefore it is said "and she added to bear" (and see Chiddushei Aggadot) and they came down six (piliah and Bereishit Rabbah chapter 22). Eighth hour they were brought into the Garden of Eden (Tanchuma), eighth hour he was commanded (Pere"a), eighth hour Eve was paired with him (Adre"n). Adam and Eve were created as if they were twenty years old, with their faces to the east, and no creature cohabited with his wife before Adam (Bereishit Rabbah chapter 22). ###### Seder HaDorot, Almanac 1:11 [Seder HaDorot, Almanac 1:11](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Seder%20HaDorot/s/Almanac/r/1:11) **שעה** ט' צוהו (סנהדרין שם תנחומא ופליאה), ט' הכניסו לג"ע (אדר"ן), ט' עלו למטה כו' (פר"א), ט' נקנסה עליו מיתה ולא עמד בנסיונו ג' שעות (שמות רבה ר"פ ל"ב וע"ש במ"כ ויפ"ת), וכתב בלבוש או"ח (סי' תכ"ח) ט' נצטווה שלא לאכול מעץ הדעת וה"ה על שאר מצות וקידוש החודש וקידשה מיד, וכיון שקידשה בתחלת תשיעית ע"כ שקידשה ע"פ הראיה וכיון שנראתה הלבנה בתחלת ט' ע"כ שנולדה ו' שעות קודם דהיינו תחלת ג' כדאמרינן פ"ק דר"ה כ"ד שעות מכסי סיהרא תמניא סרי מעתיקא ושית מחדתא, א"כ היה מולד הלבנה יום ו' אחר עבור י"ב שעות מן הלילה וב' שעות מהיום ע"ש: **Sefaria Community Translation:** Ninth Hour: He commanded him (Sanhedrin there, Tanchuma, and piliah), ninth hour He brought him into the Garden of Eden (Adre"n), ninth hour they went up to the bed, etc. (Pere"a), ninth hour the decree of death was passed upon him and he did not withstand his test for three hours (Shemot Rabbah, chapter 32, and see there in Me'or Einayim and Yefe"t), and it is written in the Levush Orach Chaim (section 428) that in the ninth hour he was commanded not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge, and the same applies to other commandments and the sanctification of the new moon, and he immediately sanctified it, and since he sanctified it at the beginning of the ninth hour, it must be that he sanctified it based on sighting. And since the moon was seen at the beginning of the ninth hour, it must be that it was born six hours earlier, which is the beginning of the third hour, as it is said in the first chapter of Rosh Hashanah: the moon is hidden for 24 hours, 18 from the old moon and six from the new.
