(א) אל תשמח ישראל אל גיל כעמים וגו׳ ואם יקרה לך דבר שמחה כגון חופות חתנים וזולתם אין לשמוח כשאר העמים כי הם לא עזבו אלהיהם ואת זנית מעל אלהיך ועבדת אלהי העמים לכן יש לך להתאבל על זה ולא לשמוח בשום שמחה כמו שעשו דור המדבר אחר שהוכיחם מרע״ה על דבר העגל שנאמר וישמע העם את הדבר הרע הזה ויתאבלו הרד״ק ז״ל:

(ג) אל תתייאש מן הפורעניות דתמיד יש לאדם לחשוב שמא ימות או ימותו בניו או יבא עליו חולי או עוני או עלילה דכתיב אשרי אדם מפחד תמיד ולאדוניו ית׳ יתחנן:

(ד) אל תהי בז לכל אדם לא גדול ולא קטן לא כותי ולא ישראל (ה) אל תהי חכם בעיניך:

(ו) אל תאמין בעצמך עד יום מותך כי היצר שונאיך ומבקש להדיחך מעל ה׳ בכל מיני תחבולה השמר מאד פן יצוד אותך ברשתו בדיבור או חטא כיונה פותה והיינו דכתיב בני אם יפתוך חטאים וגו׳ והוא יצה״ר דכתיב יתמו חטאים כי חנם מזורה הרשת:

(י) אל תהיו כסוס כפרד אין הבין פירש הרשב״י דעל עת יחוד האדם ואשתו מזהיר דאל יהיו כבהמות אלא יכוונו לשם מצוה בצניעות ובקדושה:
