הזהירנו מעשות הכשוף כלו. והוא אמרו לא ימצא בך וגו' ומכשף, והעובר על לאו זה חייב סקילה במזיד ובשוגג חטאת קבועה. והתבארו משפטי מצוה זו בפ"ז מסנהדרין. (שם, שם):

He prohibited us from witchcraft entirely. And that is His saying, "Let no one be found among you who [...] is a sorcerer" (Deuteronomy 18:10). And one who transgresses this negative commandment is liable for stoning when volitional; and a fixed sin-offering when inadvertent.
