ואחרי שכפל גם זאת לתת לנו את התורה שבשכרה הנחילנו ארץ ישראל כמה דתימר ויתן להם ארצות גוים ועמל לאומים יירשו וכתיב בתריה בעבור ישמרו חקיו (ומצותיו) [ותורתיו] ינצורו וגו'. אם הכניסנו לארץ ישראל ולא בנה לנו את בית המקדש הרי זו חיבה גדולה ודי לנו.

**Rabbi Mark Greenspan:**
After he multiplied even this of the Torah whose reward is the inheritance of the land of Israel, as it said, “He gave them the land of nations; they inherited the wealth of peoples, that they might keep His laws and observe His teachings.” (Psalm 105:44-45) **If he brought us into the land of Israel and had not built the Temple for us,** this would have been enough love for us.
