אַשְׁרֵינוּ שֶׁהַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ הֵיטִיב עִמָּנוּ מְאֹד שֶׁזָּכִינוּ לִקְדֻשַּׁת יִשְׂרָאֵל.

וְאָמַר: שֶׁיֵּשׁ לוֹ שִׂמְחָה גְּדוֹלָה עַל שֶׁזָּכָה לִהְיוֹת בְּאֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל.

The Rebbe said, “I have great joy simply because I was worthy of being in the Land of Israel.”¹⁶, 11 Av 5570 (August 10, 1810) ("*His Wisdom*” #153; *Tzaddik*#112; *Yemey Moharnat* #51). The lesson given that night appears in *Likutey Moharan* II, 78.

כִּי כַּמָּה מְנִיעוֹת וְכַמָּה בִּלְבּוּלִים וְכַמָּה מַחֲשָׁבוֹת וְכַמָּה עִכּוּבִים וְסִכְסוּכִים הָיָה לוֹ עַל עִנְיַן הַנְּסִיעָה לְאֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל. וּמְנִיעוֹת מֵחֲמַת מָמוֹן. וְהוּא קָפַץ עַל כֻּלָּם וְגָמַר הָעֻבְדָּה בִּשְׁלֵמוּת וְהָיָה בְּאֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל.

The Rebbe’s voyage to the Holy Land involved much confusion, and many frustrations and obstacles, includingmoney. Nevertheless, he overcame all barriers and attained his goal of walking inthe Holy Land.

וְאָמַר: זֶה אֲנִי מַאֲמִין וְגַם אֲנִי יוֹדֵעַ הַרְבֵּה בְּעִנְיַן זֶה, שֶׁכָּל הַתְּנוּעוֹת וְכָל הַמַּחֲשָׁבוֹת וְכָל מִינֵי הָעֲבוֹדוֹת שֶׁעוֹשִׂין בִּשְׁבִיל אֵיזֶה עֻבְדָּה שֶׁבִּקְדֻשָּׁה – אֵין שׁוּם תְּנוּעָה וְאֵין שׁוּם מַחֲשָׁבָה נֶאֱבֶדֶת כְּלָל.

He said, “I believe this and understand it fully well. Every movement, every thought and every effort made for the sake of doing something holy is never wasted.

וּכְשֶׁזּוֹכִין לִשְׁבֹּר כָּל הַמְּנִיעוֹת וְלִגְמֹר הַעֻבְדָּא שֶׁבִּקְדֻשָּׁה, אֲזַי נַעֲשִׂין מִכָּל הַתְּנוּעוֹת וְהַמַּחֲשָׁבוֹת וְהַבִּלְבּוּלִים שֶׁהָיוּ לוֹ בְּעִנְיָן זֶה, (קֹדֶם שֶׁשָּׁבַר וְעָבַר עַל כָּל הַמְנִיעוֹת בְּעֵת שֶׁהָיָה מְסֻפָּק וּמְבֻלְבָּל וְהָיָה עוֹמֵד עַל הַמִּשְׁקָל אִם לַעֲשׂוֹת דָּבָר זֶה, וְהַמְּנִיעוֹת הָיוּ מוֹנְעִים אוֹתוֹ מִכָּל צַד, אַחַר־כָּךְ כְּשֶׁזּוֹכֶה לַעֲבֹר עַל כָּל זֶה וְלִשְׁבֹּר הַכֹּל) אֲזַי נַעֲשִׂין מִכָּל הַמְּנִיעוֹת וּמִכָּל הַמַּחֲשָׁבוֹת וְהַתְּנוּעוֹת וְהַבִּלְבּוּלִים הַנַּ"ל דְּבָרִים עֶלְיוֹנִים לְמַעְלָה בִּקְדֻשָּׁה, וְהַכֹּל נִרְשָׁם לְמַעְלָה לְטוֹבָה, כָּל תְּנוּעָה וּתְנוּעָה שֶׁהָיָה לוֹ מִקֹּדֶם כַּנַּ"ל.

“When you want to do something holy, at first you are confused and unsure. You are standing on the balance deciding whether or not to do it, and barriers seem to be springing up on every side. “But when you are worthy of completing the task, your every movement, your every thought, and even the confusion you had in completing this deed are all marked for good. They are lifted on high and made into very holy and exalted things.”
