(דברים טו ד) **אֶפֶס כִּי לֹא יִהְיֶה בְּךָ אֶבְיוֹן**, וּלְהַלָּן הוּא אוֹמֵר (דברים טו יא) ״כִּי לֹא יֶחְדַּל אֶבְיוֹן מִקֶּרֶב הָאָרֶץ״! בִּזְמַן שֶׁאַתֶּם עוֹשִׂים רְצוֹנוֹ שֶׁל מָקוֹם – אֶבְיוֹנִים בַּאֲחֵרִים, וּכְשֶׁאֵין אַתֶּם עוֹשִׂים רְצוֹנוֹ שֶׁל מָקוֹם – אֶבְיוֹנִים בָּכֶם.

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
(Devarim 15:4) "But there shall not be in you a poor man.": And elsewhere it is written (*Ibid*. 11) "For a poor man shall not cease from the midst of the land!" — When you do the L-rd's will, the poor will be among the gentiles, and when you do not do His will, the poor will be among you.

**כִּי בָרֵךְ יְבָרֶכְךָ ה׳ בָּאָרֶץ**, מַגִּיד שֶׁאֵין בְּרָכָה תְּלוּיָה אֶלָּא בָּאָרֶץ.

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
(*Ibid*. 4) "For the L-rd will bless you in the land." Scripture hereby apprises us that the blessing inheres only in the land.

**אֲשֶׁר ה׳ אֱלֹהֶיךָ נֹתֵן לְךָ לְרִשְׁתָּהּ**, בִּשְׂכַר שֶׁתִּירַשׁ – תִּכְבֹּשׁ.

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
"which the L-rd your G-d gives to you to inherit" — so *that* you inherit it.
