## Sifrei Devarim Paragraph 255

###### Sifrei Devarim 255:1
[Sifrei Devarim 255:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Sifrei%20Devarim/r/255:1)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
(Devarim 23:11) "If there be among *you*": and not among gentiles;

###### Sifrei Devarim 255:2
[Sifrei Devarim 255:2](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Sifrei%20Devarim/r/255:2)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
"a *man*," and not a minor;

###### Sifrei Devarim 255:3
[Sifrei Devarim 255:3](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Sifrei%20Devarim/r/255:3)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
"who shall not be clean because of a nocturnal accident": This tells me only of a nocturnal accident (i.e., emission). Whence do I derive (the same for) a diurnal accident? From "who shall not be clean" — in any event. Why, then, is it written "a *nocturnal* accident"? Scripture speaks of the common instance.

###### Sifrei Devarim 255:4
[Sifrei Devarim 255:4](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Sifrei%20Devarim/r/255:4)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
"then he shall go outside the camp" — this is a positive commandment;

###### Sifrei Devarim 255:5
[Sifrei Devarim 255:5](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Sifrei%20Devarim/r/255:5)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
"he shall not come into the midst of the camp" — this is a negative commandment. R. Shimon Hatemani says: "then he shall go outside the camp" — this is the Levite camp; "he shall not come into the midst of the camp" — this is the camp of the *Shechinah*.
