**יִשְׁתַּבַּח שִׁמְךָ לָעַד מַלְכֵּנוּ, הָאֵל הַמֶלֶךְ הַגָּדוֹל וְהַקָּדוֹשׁ בַּשָּׁמַיִם וּבַאָרֶץ, כִּי לְךָ נָאֶה, יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ וֵאלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ, שִׁיר וּשְׁבָחָה, הַלֵּל וְזִמְרָה, עֹז וּמֶמְשָׁלָה, נֶצַח, גְּדֻלָּה וּגְבוּרָה, תְּהִלָה וְתִפְאֶרֶת, קְדֻשָּׁה וּמַלְכוּת, בְּרָכוֹת וְהוֹדָאוֹת מֵעַתָּה וְעַד עוֹלָם. בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְהֹוָה, אֵל מֶלֶךְ גָּדוֹל בַּתִּשְׁבָּחוֹת, אֵל הַהוֹדָאוֹת, אֲדוֹן הַנִפְלָאוֹת, הַבּוֹחֵר בְּשִׁירֵי זִמְרָה, מֶלֶךְ אֵל חֵי הָעוֹלָמִים.** 
**ישתבח שמך לעד מלכנו האל.** ר"ת ד' תיבות חוץ מישתבח הוא שלמה ויש אומרים שהוא תקנו ואפשר כי ר"ת ישתבח שמך לעד מלכנו הוא ישלם רמז שהקב"ה מרוב חסדיו ישלם גם למשבחים לשמו אף כי אין בפיה' מענה וקצר שכלנו לשבחו עם כל זה הוא יתב' ישלם במיטבא שמדת הטוב להטיב וזוכר כי עפר אנחנו ואין בנו כח ושכל להלל ולשבח לשמו ית' ומעט אשר נשבח חשוב ומקובל לפניו ית' ולא עוד אלא שקובע לו שכר כיד המלך:

For to You it is fitting, *Adonai*, our God, and God of our ancestors to offer forever, son and praise, glorification and hymns, strength and dominion, victory grandeur, and might, praise and glory, holiness and sovereignty, blessings and thanksgiving, to Your great and holy name; from this world to the next world You are Almighty. **Praise be Your name forever, our King:** The first letters of the opening words of *Yishtabach* spell *Shlomo*. There are those who say that this was his decree. Others say that the first letters of *Yishtabach shimcha li’ad malkeinu* spell *Yishalem*, an allusion to the Holy One who in His great kindness rewards those who praise his name, even when they don’t have the intellectual or verbal ability to praise God. Despite this, God repays them with the quality of goodness. God remembers that we are but dust and do not have the strength or the intellect to give thanks and to praise God’s name. The little bit that we praise God is still important and acceptable. Not only that but he sets a reward fit for a king.

**שיר ושבחה וכו'.** יזהר שלא להפסיק ח"ו בין השבחים הללו כי הם י"ג כנגד תליסר מכילין דרחמי כמו שהאריכו בזהר וגורי האר"י זצ"ל ואין למהר אמירת' רק יאמרם בנעימ' קדושה ובנחת רוח פיו ולבו שוים:

**Song and praise…** One should be careful not to stop between these various terms of praise for there are thirteen, for the thirteen attributes of mercy as is explained at length in the *Zohar* and by the disciples of the Holy Ari, of blessed memory. One should not recite them too quickly. Rather, one should do so with a holy melody, with pleasantness and a heart that is calm.

**יְהַלְלוּךָ יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ כָּל מַעֲשֶׂיךָ, וַחֲסִידֶיךָ צַדִּיקִים עוֹשֵׂי רְצוֹנֶךָ, וְכָל עַמְךָ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּרִנָה יוֹדוּ וִיבָרְכוּ, וִישַׁבְּחוּ וִיפָאֲרוּ, וִירוֹמְמוּ וְיַעֲרִיצוּ, וְיַקְדִּישׁוּ וְיַמְלִיכוּ אֶת שִׁמְךָ, מַלְכֵּנוּ. כִּי לְךָ טוֹב לְהוֹדוֹת וּלְשִׁמְךָ נָאֱה לְזַמֵר, כִּי מֵעוֹלָם וְעַד עוֹלָם אַתָּה אֵל.** 
**יהללוך ה' כל מעשיך וכו'.** כי כל צבא השמים ואשר בארץ הכל כאשר לכל משוררים ומשבחים כמפורש בפרק שירה ואמרו שהאומרו בכל יום זוכה לעוה"ב לפי שאומר כל השבחי' שנשבחו לשמו מכל הברואים שהם סוגים למיניהם והוא משבח לה' בכל ועל ידו יתפאר המלך שבח"י שלמי"ם ויבן כמו רמים:

**May all your creation praise You Adonai. May Your pious ones, righteous ones, those who obey your will, and the entire house of Israel thank and praise You joyfully. May they praise, laud, exalt, proclaim, sanctity and declare the sovereignty of Your name, Our King. For it is good to give thanks and pleasant to sing to Your name. From eternity to eternity You are God!**
**May all your creation praise You Adonai.** For all the host of heaven and everything on earth has the ability to sing and praise You as is stated in Perek HaShira. It is said that whoever recites it each day merits a place in the World that is Coming. This is because one who does so, recites all the praises that were offered to God’s name by the different types of creation. He then praises God with everything and through him God’s praise is complete.

**יודו ויברכו וישבחו ויפארו.** והרמז בשפה ברורה בשפ"ה ר"ת ברכה שבח פאר הודאה הוא ברחמיו יזכנו לעובדו בלב שלם ולשון קדוש וטהור ובשפ"ה ברורה נשבח לאדון הכל אלהים **חיים**: 
בריך רחמנא דסייען. מריש ועד כען. התהלה והתפארת לחיי העולמים:

**Thank (*yodu*), bless (*barchu*), praise (*shavchu*), and laud (*pa’aru*) You, joyfully.**
This teaches that one should praise God with clear language, since the opening letters of these words are *safah* *berachah*. God in his compassion will reward us by allowing us to serve him with a whole heart, with holy and pure language, and with clear gonue we will praise the living God of everything.
