**וזהו ענין ההשתחוואות שבשמונה עשרה:** בסה"מ תקס"ה ע' תכה מביא משל ע"ז: ”וה"ז כמו עד"מ במלך ב"ו כששמע מרחוק שהמלך בא בעיר אזי רץ לקראתו במרוצה גדולה ותשוקה גדולה לראותו, אבל כיון שהגיע מקרוב אל המלך אזי נופל על הארץ בהשתחואה ואין בו רוח וכח להרים ראש נגדו שנתבטל לגמרי מכל וכל, שזהו למעלה מבחי' המרוצה שלו בתשוקה נפלאה קודם לכן".
