בסה"מ תקס"ג ח"א ע' צה אינו מציין לספר מגן דוד, ושם: רבו הפירושים בזה אם הכתר הוא נמנה בי"ס או אינו נמנע (כ"א הוא מבחי' א"ס בחי' המאציל כו'), והכריע האריז"ל בזה שהכתר הוא ממוצע.
באוה"ת וישב כרך ו תתרפה, א (שנדפס מגוכתי"ק אדמו"ר הצ"צ שנכתב בצעירותו, ושם המאמר כמו שהוא בגוכתי"ק אדה"א ומציין על זה: [א"ה [= אמר המגיה — כ"ק הצ"צ על עצמו] נ"ל שהוא ט"ס שהרי בהקדמת ס' מג"ד הנ"ל מבואר להדיא דס"ל שהכתר הוא מכלל הספי' אלא שהביא שם שראה במגלת א' נק' מגלת סתרים ואגרות חמודות וכ' בה שהכת"ר הוא האי"ן סוף כו' והמחבר המג"ד כ' עליו שכתב היפך האמת, וע' בפרדס ריש שער ג' שהביא ג"כ דעה זו ודחאה ודחאה וע"ש פ"ג). ע"כ.
לאחרונה ביררו שזה ספר אחר שנק' ג"כ ”מגן דוד" שעדיין בכת"י.
