נא) **אדהכי חמא כמה** וכו': בתוך כך, ראה כמה כנפים גדולות ועליונות, ורבי שמעון ורבי אלעזר בנו עלו עליהן, ועלו אל הישיבה של הרקיע. וכל אלו הכנפים היו מחכות להם. ראה, שר"ש ור"א, חוזרים ומתחדשים בזיוום, והאירו יותר מאור זיו השמש.

**The Sefaria Sulam, 2023:**
**51. “In the meantime, he saw several etc.”**
**In the meantime, he saw several large and lofty wings, and Rabbi Shimon and Rabbi Elazar his son climbed onto them, ascending to the academy of the firmament. All those wings were waiting for them. He saw that** Rabbi Shimon and Rabbi Elazar **returned and were renewed in their brightness and illuminated more than the light of the brightness of the sun.**

פירוש, **מתיבתא דרקיעא**: היינו מתיבתא ד**מט"ט**. כמ"ש בזוהר דמתיבתא עלאה היא מתיבתא דקב"ה. ומתיבתא דרקיעא היא מתיבתא דמט"ט. (עי' בז"ח יתרו דל"ו ע"א ובז"ח עם פירוש הסולם הוא ביתרו אות רנה).

Explanation: **“The academy of the firmament”** means the seminary of **Metatron**, as stated in the *Zohar* that the higher academy is the academy of the Holy One, blessed be He, while the academy of the firmament is the seminary of Metatron (see *Zohar Ḥadash*, *Yitro*, 36a; in *Zohar Ḥadash* with the commentary of the *Sulam*, it is *Yitro*, 255).

וז"ש, **וכל אלין גדפין הוו מחכאן להו: גדפין** הם המלאכים המסייעים לנשמות להעלותן ממדרגה למדרגה. וכשם שהנשמה צריכה לסיוע הגדפין אל העליה, כן צריכה לסיוע שלהם להחזרתם למקומה. וז"ש **שהגדפין הוו מחכאן להו**, דהיינו להחזירן.

**The Sefaria Sulam, 2023:**
[The *Zohar*] continues: **“All those wings were waiting for them.”** “Wings” are the angels that help the souls, in raising them from one level to the next. Just as the soul requires the assistance of the wings for the ascension, [the soul] likewise needs their assistance to return to its place. This is the meaning of the statement here, that the **“wings were waiting for them,”** to bring them back.

וז"ש, **חמא דמתהדרן, ומתחדשן בזיוון** וכו': ראה אותם חוזרים ממתיבתא דרקיע למקומם, דהיינו למתיבתא דר"ש. ונתחדשו בזיו אור פניהם והאירו יותר מהאור של השמש.

[The *Zohar*] continues: **“He saw that they returned and were renewed in their brightness** etc.**”** He saw them returning from the academy of the firmament to their place, i.e., to Rabbi Shimon’s academy, and they were renewed in the brightness of the light of their faces, and they illuminated more than the light of the sun.
