*Q*. The tablets of the covenant used to lie flat in the holy ark of the Temple. Why are not the Scrolls of the Law, in our day, placed in the ark in a horizontal position?
*A*. It is preferable to make the ark wide and place therein the Scrolls in a horizontal position.
