*Q*. A died childless and left two brothers. One brother is an apostate, the other lives in a distant country. May A's widow accept *halitzah* (cf. Deut. 25; 7–9; Mishnah, Yeb. 12) from the apostate?
*A*. Since the other levir is a Jew, the widow should not accept *halitzah* from the apostate.
