תקמג. אלופי ומיודעי הר' אשר שאלת מה שכתב המיימוני (פ"ג מה' ציצית ה"ט) שאין למכור טלית [מצוייצת] לגוי אם לא ינתק הציציות תחלה שמא יתלוה עם ישראל ויהרגנו מאין הרגלים דע אדוני כי לא [בדה] מלבו זה ואי' בהדי' במנחות פ' התכלת (מנחות מ"ג ע"א) הלוקח טלית מצוייצת מן הגוי מן התגר כשירה כו' עד אע"פ שאמרו אין אדם רשאי למכור לגוי טלית [מצויצת] עד שיסיר ציציותיה מ"ט הכא תרגימו משום זונה רב יודא אמר משום שמא יתלוה עמו בדרך ויהרגנו. ושלום מאיר בר' ברוך זלה"ה.

*Q*. Whence did Maimonides derive the law that one should not sell to a Gentile a *talith* unless its *Zizith* are cut off, lest the Gentile gain the confidence of a Jew thereby, and kill him while traveling with him?
*A*. This law is clearly stated in the Talmud, (Menachot 43a).
