צה. ששאלת על מי שרגיל להתענות בכל שנה תעניות שלפני ר"ה ושבין ר"ה ליוה"כ או מי שרגיל שלא לאכול בשר ולא לשתות יין מי"ז בתמוז עד ט' באב ורוצה לחזור בו מחמת שאינו בריא א"ל קרובי מורי ה"ר יודא כהן ז"ל שצריך ג' הדיוטות שיתיו לו וראייתו מפ' ב' דנדרים (ט"ז ע"א) דברים המותרים ואחרי' נהגו בהן איסור א"א רשאי להתירן בפניהם שנאמר לא יחל דברו וכן משמע בירושלמי פ' מקום שנהגו (הלכה א') דהוי כמו נדר ונשאל לחכם ומתיר לו ואין פנאי להאריך. מאיר בר' ברוך זלה"ה.

*Q*. A was accustomed to observe the arbitrary fast-days preceding *Rosh-hashanah* and *Yom-Kippur*. B abstained from eating meat or drinking wine between the 17th of Tammuz and the 9th day of Ab. Because of illness, they seek to discontinue these practices.
*A*. Their customs and practices were tantamount to vows and can be discontinued only if A and B are released by a court consisting of three laymen.
