**ערוב** למה ערוב אמר להם הקב"ה אתם עשיתם המונים על בני אף אני אעלה עליכם עוף השמים וחית הארץ המונים המונים. עוד למה הביא עליהם ערוב לפי שהיו אומרים לישראל צאו והביאו לנו דובים ואריות ונמרים כדי לחיות מצרים בהם לפיכך הביא עליהם חיות מעורבבים.

**Wild beasts:** Why did the Holy One cause the plague of wild beasts? Because the Egyptians herded the Israelites like a herd, so the Holy sent the birds of prey and the wild beasts in large herds to attack them. Also, because the Egyptians ordered the Israelites to capture bears, lions and leopards to live in Egypt, so God sent a mix of wild animals.
