הכי אמר רבא הלכתא כבית הלל ולא היא לאשתמוטי נפשיה הוא דקא עביד - כך כתוב בספרים שלנו ובפירוש רש"י אבל רב אלפס פסק כרבא משמע שלא היה גורס בספרו ולא היא וכו':

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
« Ainsi a dit Rava : la halakha est comme Beit Hillel — mais ce n’est pas vrai ("et ce n’est pas le cas"), il disait cela seulement pour se dégager (se dérober). » — C’est ainsi que cela est écrit dans nos livres et dans le commentaire de Rachi. Mais le Rif a tranché selon Rava, ce qui montre qu’il n’avait pas cette version dans son livre ("et ce n’est pas le cas", etc.).
