**גבול ידוע**כלו' שלא יתהוה המקרה מעצמה אע"פ שלמקרה ההיא סבה מקרה אחרת ולאחרת אחרת עד סוף הסבות כולם באו מגזירת ה' והוא סיבב את כל המקריים אלו כולם ויעמדו על גבול ידוע שלא יוסיפו עוד מקריים וכן לא יגרע מן המקריים שחפץ ה' בהם. וכמו ד"מ ספינה שרצו אנשיה לפרוש בים כעת מחר. והעליל השלטון על רב החובל ועכבו איזה זמן. ובתוך כך קמו מלחמות על הים. ואח"ז ברדת הספינה לים נתייראו מן אנשי מלחמה ורצו לברוח בדרך אחר ונשברה הספינה באבנים שהיו באותו הדרך שבים וטבעו אנשיה. והים נשא ארגז טעון מטמונים אל חוף הים. ובתוך כך העליל שלטון עיר הסמוכה לה על פרוש אחד ומלט על נפשו אל חוף הים. ונזדמן ברגע ההיא שהארגז צף סמוך לחוף הים ונטלו והתפרנס בו כל ימיו. והנה זה שהעליל השלטון על רב החובל היתה התחלה לסבת פרנסת זה האיש שאלולי פירשו בים איזה זמן קודם טרם התעוררות המלחמות לא היו נוטים אל מקום הסכנה שנשברה הספינה. והמקרה השנית היא התעוררות המלחמות ממש בעת ההיא והמקרה הג' מה שנזדמן שם ארגז עם מטמון יכול לצוף ע"פ המים. והמקרה הד' מה שדחה אותו הים אל זה הצד מן החוף. והמקרה הה' עלילות השלטון על הפרוש ההוא בעת ההיא ממש והמקרה הו' מה שנתן בלבו לברוח מפניו. והמקרה הז' מה שברח בזמן הזה ממש ואל מקום הזה. והנה כל אלו הענינים לא באו במקרה רק ה' סבב בחכמתו שיזדמן הכל בעתו ובזמנו. בשגם שטביעת אנשי הספינה והסתערות המלחמות הכל היה בגזירת השם אלא שגלגל בחכמתו להשלים כל חפצו וגזירותיו ביחד והבן זה כי עמוק הוא וזה כוונת המחבר:
