הרבה יותר יקל לו לאדם ללמוד שנים כמות בהתמדה, אף להסתגף בכל כחו, מאשר לעבוד את ד׳ יום אחד באיכות טובה ואמיתית, גם לפי השגתו.

**JUST ONE FULLY SACRED DAY:**
While it may be so much simpler to devote many years to diligent learning and even to engage in maximal asceticism than to serve the divine for one [single] day with good and honest quality, even the kind [of devotion limited by] an individual’s own capacities of apperception [is still worthwhile].

ומה אנו ומה כל עבודתנו, אם ליום אחד עבודה, הטובה גם להשגתנו, כ״כ קשה לנו להגיע.

**DEVOTION FOR JUST ONE DAY:**
So what are we really and what value is there to our devotion even if for this one day, even according to our [own limited] perceptive capabilities, when it feels like such a difficult task to realize?

אבל אל נתיאש, וידינו לא נרפה, כי העבודה היא עבודתנו, ויגיעתנו עם תשיקתנו מטרת חיינו. ואותן לא־ל הקדוש נקדש.

**DEVOTION AMALGAMATED FROM FATIGUE AND DESIRE:**
However, we shall not despair, nor should our hands slacken, for devotion is *our* devotion, and the amalgam of fatigue and desire [we bring to our devotion] is the purpose of our lives. And such efforts [are worthy by virtue of our] sanctifying of the sacred divine totality.
