## Zechariah Chapter 12

###### Zechariah 12:1

מַשָּׂ֥א דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֗ה נֹטֶ֤ה שָׁמַ֙יִם֙ וְיֹסֵ֣ד אָ֔רֶץ וְיֹצֵ֥ר רֽוּחַ־אָדָ֖ם בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The burden of the word of the Lord concerning Yisra᾽el. The saying of the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him;


###### Zechariah 12:2

הִנֵּ֣ה אָ֠נֹכִ֠י שָׂ֣ם אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ֧͏ִם סַף־רַ֛עַל לְכׇל־הָעַמִּ֖ים סָבִ֑יב וְגַ֧ם עַל־יְהוּדָ֛ה יִהְיֶ֥ה בַמָּצ֖וֹר עַל־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Behold, I will make Yerushalayim a cup of staggering to all the peoples round about, and it shall also be for Yehuda during the siege against Yerushalayim.


###### Zechariah 12:3

וְהָיָ֣ה בַיּוֹם־הַ֠ה֠וּא אָשִׂ֨ים אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ֜͏ִם אֶ֤בֶן מַֽעֲמָסָה֙ לְכׇל־הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים כׇּל־עֹמְסֶ֖יהָ שָׂר֣וֹט יִשָּׂרֵ֑טוּ וְנֶאֶסְפ֣וּ עָלֶ֔יהָ כֹּ֖ל גּוֹיֵ֥י הָאָֽרֶץ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And on that day I will make Yerushalayim a burdensome stone for all the peoples: all that burden themselves with it shall be grievously hurt: and all the peoples of the earth shall be gathered together against it.


###### Zechariah 12:4

בַּיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֗ה אַכֶּ֤ה כׇל־סוּס֙ בַּתִּמָּה֔וֹן וְרֹכְב֖וֹ בַּשִּׁגָּע֑וֹן וְעַל־בֵּ֤ית יְהוּדָה֙ אֶפְקַ֣ח אֶת־עֵינַ֔י וְכֹל֙ ס֣וּס הָעַמִּ֔ים אַכֶּ֖ה בַּעִוָּרֽוֹן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
On that day, says the Lord, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open my eyes upon the house of Yehuda, and will smite every horse of the nations with blindness.


###### Zechariah 12:5

וְאָ֥מְר֛וּ אַלֻּפֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה בְּלִבָּ֑ם אַמְצָ֥ה לִי֙ יֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם בַּיהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the governors of Yehuda shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Yerushalayim are my strength through the Lord of hosts their God.


###### Zechariah 12:6

בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֡וּא אָשִׂים֩ אֶת־אַלֻּפֵ֨י יְהוּדָ֜ה כְּֽכִיּ֧וֹר אֵ֣שׁ בְּעֵצִ֗ים וּכְלַפִּ֥יד אֵשׁ֙ בְּעָמִ֔יר וְאָ֨כְל֜וּ עַל־יָמִ֧ין וְעַל־שְׂמֹ֛אול אֶת־כׇּל־הָעַמִּ֖ים סָבִ֑יב וְיָשְׁבָ֨ה יְרוּשָׁלַ֥͏ִם ע֛וֹד תַּחְתֶּ֖יהָ בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
On that day I will make the chiefs of Yehuda like a hearth of fire among trees, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the peoples round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Yerushalayim shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Yerushalayim.


###### Zechariah 12:7

וְהוֹשִׁ֧עַ יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶת־אׇהֳלֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה בָּרִֽאשֹׁנָ֑ה לְמַ֨עַן לֹֽא־תִגְדַּ֜ל תִּפְאֶ֣רֶת בֵּית־דָּוִ֗יד וְתִפְאֶ֛רֶת יֹשֵׁ֥ב יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם עַל־יְהוּדָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the Lord shall save the tents of Yehuda first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Yerushalayim do not magnify themselves against Yehuda.


###### Zechariah 12:8

בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יָגֵ֤ן יְהֹוָה֙ בְּעַד֙ יוֹשֵׁ֣ב יְרוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וְהָיָ֞ה הַנִּכְשָׁ֥ל בָּהֶ֛ם בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא כְּדָוִ֑יד וּבֵ֤ית דָּוִיד֙ כֵּֽאלֹהִ֔ים כְּמַלְאַ֥ךְ יְהֹוָ֖ה לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
On that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Yerushalayim; and he that stumbles among them at that day shall be like David; and the house of David shall be like a divine being, like the angel of the Lord before them.


###### Zechariah 12:9

וְהָיָ֖ה בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֑וּא אֲבַקֵּ֗שׁ לְהַשְׁמִיד֙ אֶת־כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִ֔ם הַבָּאִ֖ים עַל־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And it shall come to pass on that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Yerushalayim.


###### Zechariah 12:10

וְשָׁפַכְתִּי֩ עַל־בֵּ֨ית דָּוִ֜יד וְעַ֣ל**׀** יוֹשֵׁ֣ב יְרוּשָׁלַ֗͏ִם ר֤וּחַ חֵן֙ וְתַ֣חֲנוּנִ֔ים וְהִבִּ֥יטוּ אֵלַ֖י אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁר־דָּקָ֑רוּ וְסָפְד֣וּ עָלָ֗יו כְּמִסְפֵּד֙ עַל־הַיָּחִ֔יד וְהָמֵ֥ר עָלָ֖יו כְּהָמֵ֥ר עַֽל־הַבְּכֽוֹר׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
But I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, the spirit of grace and of supplication: and they shall look towards me, regarding those whom the nations have thrust through. And they shall mourn for him (that is slain) as one mourns for an only son, and shall be in bitterness over him, as one that is in bitterness for a firstborn.


###### Zechariah 12:11

בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יִגְדַּ֤ל הַמִּסְפֵּד֙ בִּיר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם כְּמִסְפַּ֥ד הֲדַד־רִמּ֖וֹן בְּבִקְעַ֥ת מְגִדּֽוֹן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
On that day shall there be a great mourning in Yerushalayim, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.


###### Zechariah 12:12

וְסָפְדָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ מִשְׁפָּח֥וֹת מִשְׁפָּח֖וֹת לְבָ֑ד מִשְׁפַּ֨חַת בֵּית־דָּוִ֤יד לְבָד֙ וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֣ם לְבָ֔ד מִשְׁפַּ֤חַת בֵּית־נָתָן֙ לְבָ֔ד וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֖ם לְבָֽד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Natan apart, and their wives apart;


###### Zechariah 12:13

מִשְׁפַּ֤חַת בֵּית־לֵוִי֙ לְבָ֔ד וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֖ם לְבָ֑ד מִשְׁפַּ֤חַת הַשִּׁמְעִי֙ לְבָ֔ד וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֖ם לְבָֽד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
the family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shim῾i apart, and their wives apart;


###### Zechariah 12:14

כֹּ֗ל הַמִּשְׁפָּחוֹת֙ הַנִּשְׁאָר֔וֹת מִשְׁפָּחֹ֥ת מִשְׁפָּחֹ֖ת לְבָ֑ד וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֖ם לְבָֽד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
all the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
