## Zechariah Chapter 3

###### Zechariah 3:1

וַיַּרְאֵ֗נִי אֶת־יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ הַכֹּהֵ֣ן הַגָּד֔וֹל עֹמֵ֕ד לִפְנֵ֖י מַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהֹוָ֑ה וְהַשָּׂטָ֛ן עֹמֵ֥ד עַל־יְמִינ֖וֹ לְשִׂטְנֽוֹ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And he showed me Yehoshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and the adversary standing at his right hand to thwart him.


###### Zechariah 3:2

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֶל־הַשָּׂטָ֗ן יִגְעַ֨ר יְהֹוָ֤ה בְּךָ֙ הַשָּׂטָ֔ן וְיִגְעַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ בְּךָ֔ הַבֹּחֵ֖ר בִּירֽוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם הֲל֧וֹא זֶ֦ה א֖וּד מֻצָּ֥ל מֵאֵֽשׁ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the Lord said to the adversary, The Lord rebukes thee, O adversary; even the Lord who has chosen Yerushalayim rebukes thee: for is not this man a brand plucked out of the fire?

וִיהוֹשֻׁ֕עַ הָיָ֥ה לָבֻ֖שׁ בְּגָדִ֣ים צוֹאִ֑ים וְעֹמֵ֖ד לִפְנֵ֥י הַמַּלְאָֽךְ׃

Now Yehoshua was clothed in filthy garments, and he stood before the angel.

וַיַּ֣עַן וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אֶל־הָעֹמְדִ֤ים לְפָנָיו֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הָסִ֛ירוּ הַבְּגָדִ֥ים הַצֹּאִ֖ים מֵעָלָ֑יו וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֗יו רְאֵ֨ה הֶעֱבַ֤רְתִּי מֵעָלֶ֙יךָ֙ עֲוֺנֶ֔ךָ וְהַלְבֵּ֥שׁ אֹתְךָ֖ מַחֲלָצֽוֹת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And he answered and spoke to those who stood before him, saying, Take off the filthy garments from him. And to him he said, Behold, I have caused thy iniquity to pass from thee; and I clothe thee in festive garments.


###### Zechariah 3:5

וָאֹמַ֕ר יָשִׂ֛ימוּ צָנִ֥יף טָה֖וֹר עַל־רֹאשׁ֑וֹ וַיָּשִׂ֩ימוּ֩ הַצָּנִ֨יף הַטָּה֜וֹר עַל־רֹאשׁ֗וֹ וַיַּלְבִּשֻׁ֙הוּ֙ בְּגָדִ֔ים וּמַלְאַ֥ךְ יְהֹוָ֖ה עֹמֵֽד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Then I said, Let them put a pure mitre on his head. So they set the pure mitre on his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.


###### Zechariah 3:6

וַיָּ֙עַד֙ מַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהֹוָ֔ה בִּיהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ לֵאמֹֽר׃

And the angel of the Lord forewarned Yehoshua, saying,


###### Zechariah 3:7

כֹּה־אָמַ֞ר יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת אִם־בִּדְרָכַ֤י תֵּלֵךְ֙ וְאִ֣ם אֶת־מִשְׁמַרְתִּ֣י תִשְׁמֹ֔ר וְגַם־אַתָּה֙ תָּדִ֣ין אֶת־בֵּיתִ֔י וְגַ֖ם תִּשְׁמֹ֣ר אֶת־חֲצֵרָ֑י וְנָתַתִּ֤י לְךָ֙ מַהְלְכִ֔ים בֵּ֥ין הָעֹמְדִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thus says the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, and thou wilt also judge my house, and wilt also guard my courts, then I will give thee access among these who stand by.


###### Zechariah 3:8

שְֽׁמַֽע־נָ֞א יְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ**׀** הַכֹּהֵ֣ן הַגָּד֗וֹל אַתָּה֙ וְרֵעֶ֙יךָ֙ הַיֹּשְׁבִ֣ים לְפָנֶ֔יךָ כִּֽי־אַנְשֵׁ֥י מוֹפֵ֖ת הֵ֑מָּה כִּֽי־הִנְנִ֥י מֵבִ֛יא אֶת־עַבְדִּ֖י צֶֽמַח׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Hear now, O Yehoshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows who sit before thee: for they are men of good omen: for, behold, I will bring my servant Żemaĥ.


###### Zechariah 3:9

כִּ֣י**׀** הִנֵּ֣ה הָאֶ֗בֶן אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָתַ֙תִּי֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ עַל־אֶ֥בֶן אַחַ֖ת שִׁבְעָ֣ה עֵינָ֑יִם הִנְנִ֧י מְפַתֵּ֣חַ פִּתֻּחָ֗הּ נְאֻם֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וּמַשְׁתִּ֛י אֶת־עֲוֺ֥ן הָאָֽרֶץ־הַהִ֖יא בְּי֥וֹם אֶחָֽד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For behold the stone that I have laid before Yehoshua; upon one stone are seven facets: behold, I will engrave its inscription, says the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.


###### Zechariah 3:10

בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא נְאֻם֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת תִּקְרְא֖וּ אִ֣ישׁ לְרֵעֵ֑הוּ אֶל־תַּ֥חַת גֶּ֖פֶן וְאֶל־תַּ֥חַת תְּאֵנָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
On that day, says the Lord of hosts, everyone of you shall invite his neighbour to come under his vine and under his fig tree.
