רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אָמַר הַאי קְרָא רָזָא דְּחָכְמְתָא אִית בֵּיהּ. הַיּוֹשֶׁבֶת בַּגַנִּים, דָּא כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל, דְּאִיהִי בְּגָלוּתָא עִם יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְאַזְלָא עִמְּהוֹן בְּעַקְתַּיְיהוּ. חֲבֵרִים מַקְשִׁיבִים לְקוֹלֵךְ, מַשִׁרְיָין עִלָּאִין. כֻּלְּהוּ צַיְיתִין לְקוֹלֵךְ, לְקוֹל תּוּשְׁבַּחְתֵּךְ בְּגָלוּתָא. הַשְׁמִיעִינִי, כְּמָה דְאַתְּ אָמֵר (שיר השירים ב׳:י״ד) הַרְאִינִי אֶת מַרְאַיִךְ הַשְׁמִעִינִי אֶת קוֹלֵךְ. הַשְׁמִעִינִי, קָלָא דְּאִינּוּן חַבְרַיָּיא דְּמִשְׁתַּדְּלֵי בְּאוֹרַיְיתָא דְּהָא לֵית תּוּשְׁבַּחְתָּא קַמָּאי, כְּאִינּוּן דְּמִשְׁתַּדְּלֵי בְּאוֹרַיְיתָא.

תָּא חֲזֵי, כָּל מַאן דְּזָכֵי לְאִתְתָּקַף בִּשְׁכִינְתָּא, יִסְתְּמַר גַּרְמוֹהִי מֵאִנּוּן מִלִּין דַּאֲחִידָן לָקֳבְלָהּ. כְּגוֹן מַאן. אִינּוּן דְּלָא מְשַׁקְּרֵי בְּאָת קַדִישָׁא, כְּגוֹן בַּת אֵל נֵכָר. וְכָל מַאן דְּנָטִיר גַּרְמֵיהּ, כִּבְיָכוֹל כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲחִידָא בֵּיהּ, וְנַטְרָא לֵיהּ, וְהִיא אַקְדִּימַת לֵיהּ שְׁלָם. וְכָּל שֶׁכֵּן אִי זָכֵי וְקָּנֵי לְהַאי.

וְאָמַר רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן, אִתְחַזְיָין יִשְׂרָאֵל לְאִשְׁתֵּצָאָה בְּהַהוּא שַׁעֲתָא, בַּר דְּאַקְדִים פִּנְחָס לְהַאי עוֹבָדָא, וְשָׁכִיךְ רוּגְזָא. הֲדָא הוּא דִכְתִיב, פִּנְחָס בֶּן אֶלְעָזָר בֶּן אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן הֵשִׁיב וְגוֹ'. דָּבָר אַחֵר, פִּנְחָס בֶּן אֶלְעָזָר וְגוֹ'. אָמַר רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן, בֶּן בֶּן תְּרֵי זִמְנֵי, לְאַשְׁלְמָא אוֹבָדָא (נ"א עובדא) קָא אָתֵי.

¹ to the end of the Zohar, a large portion of the text in the original is taken up by the *Ray’a Mehemna*; hence the frequency of the omissions in the translation. On the section *Mattoth* there is only a short piece of Zohar of too allusive a nature to be made intelligible in a translation. There is no Zohar at all on the sections *Mas’e, Debarim, Ekeb, Re’eh, Shofetim, Ki Teze, Ki Tabo, Nizabim*, and *Vezoth Haberakah*.PHINEAS THE SON OF ELEAZAR THE SON OF AARON THE PRIEST. R. אָמַר רִבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן, הַאי בַּר נָשׁ דְּנָטִיל גִּלְגוּלָא דְּנִשְׁמְתָא, וְלָא זָכֵי דְּיִתְתָּקַּן בֵּיהּ, כְּאִילּוּ מְשַׁקֵּר בְּקוּשְׁטָא דְּמַלְכָּא. וַאֲנָא קָרֵינָּא עָלֵיהּ הַאי קְרָא (ויקרא ה׳:כ״ב) אוֹ מָצָא אֲבֵידָה וְכִחֶשׁ בָּהּ וְנִשְׁבַּע עַל שָׁקֶר. וְכִחֶשׁ בָּהּ, טַב לֵיהּ דְּלָא אִבְרֵי.
