**The Zohar; London, Soncino Press, 1933:**
Second Chapter. The beard of faith. It (the beard) is not mentioned [in the TaNaCh] because it is the gloriousness of all, it has emerged from the ears, in its circling around the mouth, a white thread ascends and descends. In thirteen it is dividing itself.

###### Zohar, Sifra DiTzniuta 3:2
[Zohar, Sifra DiTzniuta 3:2](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Zohar/s/Sifra%20DiTzniuta/r/3:2)

(נ"א לגנתא).

**The Zohar; London, Soncino Press, 1933:**
About this Glory of Gloriousness is written: "Through it no man (Ish, איש) passed, and no person (Adam, אדם) dwelled there" [Jeremiah 2:6]. Adam, he is outside. Adam is not included here, the more so Ish. In thirteen streams the sources become separated, four by themselves are being careful, nine are giving the body (another reading: the garden) to drink.

**The Zohar; London, Soncino Press, 1933:**
(First tiqqun) From the front of the opening of the ears the Glory starts to get installed, (Second [tiqqun]) descending with beauty at the upper part of the lips, being established from this upper part to that upper part. (Third [tiqqun]) The road that goes out below two cavities of the nose to remove sin, as is written "His beauty [is] to go by offense" [Proverbs 19:11]. (Fourth [tiqqun]) Below the lips hair circles to the other upper part. (Fifth [tiqqun]) Another road goes out from below it (Sixth [tiqqun]) covering an offering of spice for the head above.(Seventh [tiqqun]) Two apples are seen to enlighten the lamps. (Eighth [tiqqun]) The flux of all hangs down until the heart. In it hang down the upper and lower ones.

At the time that [the month of] Tishri arrives, the seventh month, these twelve (months) (other reading: thirteen) are found in the upper world and the twelve (other [more probable] reading: thirteen) gates of compession are opened, and at that time (Isaiah 55:6) "Seek HaShem in where He is found" is written.

(At this time) (Deuteronomy 3:24) "Adonai HaShem, you have begun to show your servant your greatness". יהוה complete in His aspects. And here in this movement of the earth, not complete.

"Let there be" (יהי) is not written [in Genesis 1:11-12]. We read Yod, lower Yod, "And He formed" (וייצר) [Genesis 2:7] upper Yod, lower Yod, (יהי) ("Let there be") upper Yod, lower Yod. He between them. The summa of completeness. Complete, but not in every aspect. This name is uprooted from this place, and it is planted in another [place], it is written "And HaShem (יהוה) God planted" [Genesis 2:8].

**The Zohar; London, Soncino Press, 1933:**
...With his balms of balms, (bundle) with the breath of the balances, Yod He Wav. Upper Yod, which is crowned with the knot (other reading: the crown) of the Ancient One, he/it is the upper membrane that is cleaned and closed. Upper He, which is crowned with the breath of openings of the nose, that goes out to vivify. Upper Wav, Lamp of Hardness, which is crowned with its aspects (other reading: its crowns). Letters are stretched out afterward, and are included in the Young Face. Just as the stay in the skull, they [the letters] are found stretching themselves out in the whole body, to decorate all. With clean wool. When it hangs, these letters hang. When it is revealed to the Young One, these letters are settled in him, and he is called after them.

When Yod departs from Wav-Daleth through the sins of the world, the nakedness of all is found, on this it is written (Leviticus 18:7) "the nakedness of your father [...] you shall not reveal". And when Yod-Wav-Daleth departs from He-Aleph, on this it is written "the nakedness of your mother you shall not reveal, she is your mother, you shall not reveal her nakedness". Your mother she is for sure, (Proverbs 2:3) "because you will call Understanding (Bina) "mother" (אם) etc".
