## Malbim on Proverbs Chapter 14

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:1:1
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:1:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:1:1)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**Women's Wisdom**, the wise man will depict wisdom and cunning as two women, likening wisdom to a woman, because the soul that receives wisdom receives it from the higher, influential intellect, and the learned and educated souls are the good women, women of might, who listen to their higher husband, and he overflows upon them with his spirit to enlighten them with his truth, and the foolish and foolish women are the harlots under their husbands, walking in darkness without light into stubborn paths, the paths of death. And behold, the parts of wisdom are very many and have no end, and wisdom in its entirety, which gathers all the details of wisdom, is likened in a parable to a house built from many trees and stones and sand and lime and beams, and when they are joined together, a king's temple will be built, and he depicts that **Women's wisdom built her house**, wisdom in its entirety that built the sublime house, all the wise women, all the educated souls in the fear of Hashem, the prophets and the wise men, the educated men with good intellect, joined this building and built the house, <b>and a scythe in her hands Destroy us, but the ulata that imposes limitations on all the laws of wisdom, this woman does not build, only destroys and annihilates, for the entire power of the ulata is only to destroy the laws of wisdom, which with wisdom will build a house, and she is engaged in destroying and not building, destroying and not establishing:

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:2:1
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:2:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:2:1)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**He who walks uprightly**, I have already explained that the upright is one whose mind walks straight from his nature, and the boundary of the upright is the shortest line between two fixed points, and the upright is one who walks with his mind on the shortest and straightest path, and in particular falls on matters of understanding, because the human mind is made in such a way that if it does not incline to the side, it will always observe the truth, as the saying goes: "For Hashem made man upright, and they sought many accounts," that Hashem made every person who always attains the truth also through the paths of understanding who observes to know the truth and the false, and when he observes the Hashemhead, he will understand that there is a Hashem who creates and oversees, rewards and punishes, and so on. Likewise, one who inclines from uprightness and seeks many accounts and misleading philosophical strictures, departs from the short, straight line and goes astray from his path, and then he will come to heresy in all these corners, and this is why **He who walks uprightly** **He who fears the Lord**, for he will attain through common sense and through miracles the understanding that there is a Hashem. Judge and overseer, and fear Him because of His greatness and exaltation, His punishment and reward. Only those who have strayed from their ways and seek many and difficult accounts, straying from the straight line planted in the mind, and come to deny Hashem and despise Him, because they will deny the aspects of providence and the like:

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:3:1
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:3:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:3:1)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**In the mouth of the fool**, the fool is the one who is satisfied with the laws of wisdom, and behold, the laws of wisdom have no miracles about them, and they do not know that by the whole human mind they are only from Hashem. And whoever is not proud and does not dare to exceed the limit of his mind to say that with his mind he can achieve everything, he will submit to the laws of wisdom given by Hashem and believe in them and will not dispute them. Only the fool is proud in his mouth. His mouth that speaks perverse things has turned the way of wisdom, as if his wisdom is wisdom. He is the cause of his pride, and his pride stands out from his mouth like a bud emerging from a tree. But the lips of the wise, the lips depict the external speech, and they will come to the wise when they speak words of wisdom with lips that hint at the knowledge of the Lord, who returned to them to know, that by believing in the laws of wisdom, they are to them as things known in knowledge, this will protect them from pride, because they will submit to the supreme wisdom and believe in it, because Hashem will give wisdom:

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:4:1
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:4:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:4:1)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**If there are no thousands of wild animals, the thousands are the oxen that are taught to plow and work the land, and when the ox is taught to plow, then it is called a master (from the word "learned" and "trained"), and it is placed in a manger to fatten it, because it will graze in the beauty of the grass and it gives grain with its strength, because <b>abundant crops are produced by the strength of an ox**, but **if there are no thousands**, if the oxen have not learned to work the land, then they are placed in a manger to fatten them and fatten them. Not only do they not produce more crops, they are lacking because they will eat the wild animals in a manger, and it is a parable and admonition on the above that a person should be like an ox to the yoke and like a donkey to the burden, and should be a master and learned to plow on the plot of wisdom and in the field of reason and knowledge, and then he will produce abundant crops, which are the crops of the soul and the fruit of the mind, because souls are not subject to labor, only the bodies are the animals that will teach them to work in the service of Hashem and in the upper garden of heaven and to produce abundant crops. The harvest is in the strength of a learned and patient ox, as the saying goes, "Our champions are suffered." But he who is not a champion and a scholar, who is the wretch who disputes wisdom and has not learned its ways, does not cultivate his land, but merely wastes the fruit of wisdom by standing at the manger to fatten and fatten up with the pleasures of the present, and besides being of no use, he also harms and destroys the sacred harvest.

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:5:1
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:5:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:5:1)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**A faithful witness will not lie and utter lies until he is a liar**. There is a difference between a lie and a falsehood. A lie is a lie that is immediately obvious, and a lie seems true at first, and in the end it is revealed that it is a lie. A lie is a matter of judgment and does not exist. And here **a false witness must utter lies**, because he will not say anything that is a lie that is obvious to everyone, and he must lie, meaning he must say something that will not be recognized as false, and later it will be recognized that it was a lie, and this is called a lie. But **a faithful witness will not lie**, because he will speak the truth that remains true forever, as the saying goes: The tongue of truth will be established forever, and he will utter lies, because the blow comes upon the incomplete speech because he will not be able to complete his speech, and then it will be recognized that it was a lie, only to utter incomplete speech by deceit, and there is a saying for this, which testifies to the laws of wisdom and faith. He will not lie because his words will be established forever, because The laws of faith are the eternally existing truth, and the fool who testifies lies to dispute the laws of wisdom through his own efforts will produce falsehoods and misleading assertions that, after combination and examination, will not hold true and will be like a disappointment:

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:6:1
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:6:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:6:1)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**A fool seeks wisdom, but there is none, and knowledge is easy for a wise man.** The fool is one who jokes about the laws of wisdom, because there are no examples for the laws of wisdom, only that they are accepted, and they must be accepted with humility and faith. However, the fool whose way of joking is to joke about wisdom, but will not joke about knowledge, which is about things known by example or through the senses. And here it is difficult for a wise man to come to the full knowledge, that is, to know the ways of wisdom with clear knowledge as he knows tangible things, because the ways of wisdom are only accepted. However, the wise man who, after researching the laws of wisdom, attains their meaning and derives something from something, **if knowledge were easy**, he will attain the laws of wisdom with clear knowledge and easily. Indeed, a fool is not one who comes to this level, because if he understood and easily attained the laws of wisdom with clear knowledge called knowledge, he would not joke, because the fool is not a fool or a fool who disputes wisdom because of his own pleasure or because of desire. He only jokes and does not accept them because he does not understand them, although it is impossible for him to understand them because he must first accept them through faith and acceptance. And the joker **when he sought wisdom and there was none**, did not want to accept its laws because he joked about them, but the wise man accepted the laws of wisdom and understood one thing from another until he came to the general understanding:

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:1
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:7:1)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
"**You go against a foolish man and do not know the words of knowledge** - There is a difference between the fool and the scoundrel mentioned in the previous scripture:

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:2
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:2](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:7:2)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
* The joker does not joke about knowledge, only about wisdom, because there are no miracles about them, and they came to Kabbalah without clear knowledge, and if he had reached them with clear knowledge, he would not joke, only because he sought wisdom and did not find it, he did not come to the rule of reason, that he is after wisdom, because then knowledge would be easy in his eyes.

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:3
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:3](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:7:3)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
* But the fool is not a fool, and he has accepted the laws of wisdom, only lust has overcome him, and because the laws of wisdom oppose lust, therefore he will hate knowledge, as it is said (Proverbs 1:22): **And fools hate knowledge**, that is, even though he has accepted the laws of wisdom, and even though he is like the wise man until he knows their taste in knowledge, he will hate the knowledge that stands before Satan for him to his lust, as it is said (Proverbs 13:19): **Lust becomes a hindrance to the soul and an abomination to fools who turn away from evil**, as I explained there. Therefore he will hate knowledge, and will deceitfully cast a shadow over the laws of wisdom, so that he may have a blindfold on him in following the whims of his heart.

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:4
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:4](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:7:4)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
And if so, you, who knew my tongue of knowledge:

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:5
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:5](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:7:5)

* תוכל ללכת עם הלץ, כי הלץ יתלוצץ על החכמה, לא על הדעת, כנ"ל;

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
* You can go with the joker, because the joker will joke about wisdom, not about reason, as above;

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:6
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:6](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:7:6)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
* But not with a fool, who does not even accept reason.

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:7
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:7:7](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:7:7)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
Therefore, **go against a foolish man**, for if you go with him **without knowing the lips of knowledge**, the knowledge that you have acquired, until you bring it out of your lips (which I have already explained that the lips indicate knowledge}, it will seem as if you did not know it, because by associating with a fool, you will learn from his actions to follow lust and confusion, as it is said (Proverbs 13:20): **And he who shepherds fools will be destroyed**, and you will be alienated from knowledge as if you did not know it at all.

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:8:1
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:8:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:8:1)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
"**The wisdom of the naked man understands his way, and the folly of fools is deceit** - it is drawn upward.

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:8:2
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:8:2](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:8:2)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
He said that the foolishness of fools is a deception, because the fool is not a fool, because he is not truly satisfied with the ways of wisdom, but because he is restrained by the hand of desire that leads him astray, and the laws of wisdom and knowledge stand against him, he will act deceitfully and call upon folly, and say that he is satisfied with wisdom, and does not believe in it because of the sufficiency he has, and this is a deception, because truly a fool is not satisfied.

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:8:3
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:8:3](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:8:3)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
And before this: **The wisdom of the naked man understands his way** - The naked man is not wise, meaning, he did not receive the laws of wisdom from the wise men to know all their paths, and yet he is not gullible, he is tempted by everything, because cunning enters into him, and his mind knows how to distinguish between good and evil and truth and falsehood, as it is said (Proverbs 1:4): **To give guile to the simple**. And cunning will teach him to understand his way, so that he will not follow a path that he is unsure of and does not know whether it is good or bad, but will only strive to understand with his mind the essence of his way, and this is his wisdom, that although he did not receive all the laws of wisdom to know all the paths according to the Kabbalah from the wise men, in all this, in the particular path that he walks, he will pay attention to understanding it, and from this he will arrive at wisdom in some details. And this is the wisdom of the naked man.

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:8:4
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:8:4](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:8:4)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
And if so, how can the fool, who is not gullible, follow the path of foolishness that he doubts?! Only this foolishness is truly deceitful, not real.

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:9:1
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:9:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:9:1)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**The wicked will be guilty**, the counsellor is the one who stands between two people to reveal the ideas of one to the other who does not understand his language and his secrets, as if he had advised between them, and his speech **Between the wicked will be guilty and between the righteous will be willing**, R"l Although the wicked are the ones who are content and deny the laws of wisdom and absolutely oppose it (not like the fools who do this deceitfully to produce their desires), and the upright are the opposite. The wicked are those whose hearts are upright in the ways of understanding and attain the truth, and the ways of wisdom are secure and fortified in their hearts, the parroting of their thoughts and the secrets of their hearts will be recognized, because the wicked are guilty in their souls (the fence of the guilty is the one who recognizes that he is liable to punishment for his actions) that the heart that feels will feel about his actions whether good or bad, and the heart of the wicked will feel that he is liable to punishment, and his inner soul will be bitter about his actions, and the heart of the upright will rejoice and feel that his actions are desirable, and this is the counsellor between them to reveal mysteries Their secrets, because Hashem will advise among the wicked, and will reveal the secrets of their hearts that feel that they deserve punishment, and they do not do their deeds with joy because their hearts will not rest, **And among the upright in will** He will advise and reveal the secrets of their thoughts, who feel that their deeds are pleasing and rejoice in their deeds:

###### Malbim on Proverbs 14:10:1
[Malbim on Proverbs 14:10:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20on%20Proverbs/r/14:10:1)

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**The heart knows the bitterness of its soul**, explains that this feeling lies in the innermost heart and soul of a person. **The heart** of the wicked **knows the bitterness of its soul**, for its inner soul is bitter to it and has no rest because that soul is to blame and is moved by it. Likewise, **No outsider will interfere with the joy** of the heart of the upright, because it is an internal matter and a very unknown feeling:

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the righteous will flourish**. This feeling will foretell to him what his end will be. The heart knows the bitterness of its soul and recognizes that **the house of the wicked will be destroyed**. Even though his house is built with strength, in 27 it will end up being destroyed and will not stand. And in its joy, the righteous will recognize that **the tent of the righteous will flourish**. The righteous, even though they do not have a permanent home, only a temporary tent, and it has not yet sprouted or grown, in 27 it will flourish and be very proud, and this is an inner feeling that both the wicked and the righteous will feel in him:

**There is a straight path before a man**, it is said about the above, that although sometimes the path of the wicked may be better in his eyes, because the path of the wicked seems straight at first, against the path of wisdom, which at its beginning seems to go over thorns and briers, because one must fight against the desires and states of the soul that tend to evil, as the saying goes (Lema' 12:16) The path of the wicked is straight in his eyes, yet its end **is the way of death**, whereas the path of wisdom begins with thorns and ends with a plain:

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**Even in laughter, the heart will ache**, and therefore, even though you see on the face of the unfortunate one that he is laughing, and the hour is right for him, the heart will ache because the heart knows the bitterness of its soul and feels that **in the end, joy is sorrow**, and in the end it knows that joy is truly sorrow, because it will walk the path of death, and there is a difference between laughter and joy. The laughter is seen only in its exterior, and the joy is in the heart, and there is a crying and laughing person who cries in his heart and laughs with his mouth, as it is said about Rabbi Akiva who cried and laughed, and may Hashem have mercy on him who laughs and whose heart is in pain:

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
"A wise man should fear and shun evil" - Wisdom needs morality, meaning, since in the paths of morality there are two paths in each person, one path is wisdom and its opposite is folly, and the heart's inclination tends to evil, because the images that were planted in his heart from the time of his birth tend to lust and the pleasures of the flesh and are opposite to the paths of wisdom. Behold, when the inclination of his heart tempts him to deviate from the paths of wisdom, he easily listens to the advice of inclination, and he needs something in which he will chasten the forces of his soul lest they go beyond the boundaries of wisdom. And this morality is the fear of Hashem, who knows that a great king stands over him and sees his actions, and he becomes dry and afraid of doing anything against his will, and therefore (Psalms 111:10): "The beginning of wisdom is the fear of Hashem," which is a condition for wisdom and the gateway to it.

And this is from the path of wisdom, and wisdom will also require, as the saying goes: "Any person who prolongs his anger, because if he quarrels with his friend or takes revenge on him, he quarrels with him and despises him, and his enemy will turn on his head. Therefore, a man of wisdom will keep silent (ibid. 11:12). And whoever is short-tempered will commit a crime, he is satisfied with the paths of understanding and reason. There are short-tempered and short-tempered people, and short-tempered people will also be depicted in someone who is long-tempered, because the nose is the external nose, and the spirit is what brings up the images on the heart. And whoever is short-tempered will not be able to calm his spirit and will bring up the images of revenge and hatred on his heart. And even if he prolongs his anger and does not do evil openly, he will keep his hatred in his heart for a while. It is a commandment, and although it is not against the ways of reason and intellect, it is against the laws of wisdom, which commands that one should not raise these evil images in his mind upon his heart, only to humiliate them, and to raise in their place the images of suffering and mercy and humility and forgiveness, and he is a curse and a doubt in the ways of wisdom, and Hashem forbid there is a curse and a short-tempered person raises a curse, because although he does not commit a curse, he raises it from the depths of the soul upon the heart, but he is short-tempered and takes revenge immediately in practice, he commits a curse in action, and a man of schemes, is called one who plots deep thoughts for evil, as it is written, "He who plots evil shall be called a man of schemes," and although he also prolongs it because he lies in wait and plots to bring him down in a net, he is hated because he who lies in secret to strike his neighbor is hated by all:

But those who plant evil in secret tend from the path of wisdom to a crooked path. And will they not always go astray because no one sees the path leading to them. But those who plant good and hide their deeds, this comes from the side of **kindness and truth.** Because the one who does good openly expects reward, or honor and glory, and the one who does good to his fellow man in secret does not expect to be rewarded. **Sefaria Community Translation:**

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
It can also be explained: The **wealth** of **the sages** is their **crown**. That is to say, [their crown is] that which they, through their wisdom, separate from the desires of the world and are happy with their portion, since that is true wealth — one who does not desire [anything], such that he does not lack anything. For the wealthy person who is desirous and his eye will never be satiated (alluding to Ecclesiastes 4:8), he is truly the poor one.

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**The folly of fools is folly** - It has already been explained (in verse 8) that the folly of fools is deceit, because the fool is not a fool, and he knows the laws of wisdom, only because of his lust he is forced to deny the laws of wisdom and interpret folly, as it is said (Proverbs 13:16): **And a fool will spread folly**, that he may have a covering for his eyes, he will spread the veil of folly over wisdom to blind her eyes, and he is truly deceitful, because he himself knows that the laws of wisdom are true, and therefore the **foolishness** **of the fool** and his doubts are folly and doubt, because folly is not certain to him, only folly, meaning doubt.

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**Saving souls to truth**, R"l. Whoever comes and bears true testimony before the Lord and thus saves souls who were condemned to death by false witnesses, is the one who saves souls in truth. But **if he utters lies** The one who saves souls if he comes to save the condemned through false words, (and already in my Barati (P. 5) that he apprehended uttering lies, that he cannot say a clear lie, only a lie that will seem to be true for its time, and said uttering it is an incomplete word) this does not save souls because it is **deception** and deceit, and he will not be called by the name of the purpose a savior of souls only if he comes through truth and not through deceit:

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
(Proverbs 14:26): **In the fear of the Lord one finds strength** - wisdom itself, without the fear of the Lord, does not exist, as the Sages said (Mishnah, Tractate Avot): Whoever fears his sin before his wisdom - his wisdom exists, etc., and they said (Mishnah, Tractate Avot): If there is no fear - there is no wisdom, because even if he knows the laws of wisdom, are not there pitfalls all around him in the depths of the soul, desires and evil images, and he will easily deviate from its laws, only the fear of the Lord will restrain the powers of the soul from morality, so that he will never deviate from the laws of wisdom. Therefore, the one who trusts in the laws of wisdom that he has gathered in his soul is not a strong confidence, because this fortress will easily be conquered by the city's besiegers who have built great traps against it, but the one whose fear of his sin precedes wisdom has **the refuge of strength**, and his wisdom exists, until his children too will have Shelter, as it is said (Psalms 25:12): **Who is the man who fears the Lord... and his seed will inherit the land**, (Psalms 121:1): **Blessed is the man who fears the Lord... his seed will be mighty in the land**.

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**The fear of Hashem is a source of life to avoid the pitfalls of death**. The path of wisdom is the path of life, but around it are pitfalls of death. It is the stronghold of desire and lust that want to throw the soul into the path of death. Even though one knows the laws of wisdom, he is not sure that the lurker sitting in the room will not trap him in his traps. However, through fear, the powers of the soul will be tormented (as in the previous scripture). There is the source of life, from whose waters he will live eternal life and avoid the pitfalls of death. Fear without Torah and wisdom is also not beneficial, because he does not know what to do and what is the path of wisdom, as it is said: "If there is no wisdom, there is no fear." Therefore, it was said above (13:14) The law of a wise man is a source of life to avoid the pitfalls of death:

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**In the majority of the people, the king's honor and the nation's honor are due to the majority of the people. The community that has a king is called a people (which is the difference between a gentile and a people), and the community that has a special religion is called a nation. Counts are the ministers of advice. There is a difference between a count and an advisor. The advisors are in matters of state and their advice is open, while the counts are in matters of secrecy and under their command are all matters of religion and law, as it is said, "And the counts shall legislate justice." The king's honor is due to the majority of the people. There is a difference between grandeur and honor, for honor is the external grandeur in everything according to our interests, and according to the majority of the people, the king's honor will increase. But the <b>ratio**, who is in charge of religious laws, even when there is a people or **nation** that does not have the knowledge of the 13th <b>, is due to the majority of the people, because he will not act on anything:

**Sefaria Community Translation:**
**A long-suffering man, full of wisdom and short-tempered, raises a burden**, I have already explained above that being long-suffering and not taking immediate revenge is the opposite of the laws of wisdom. And there is a long-suffering man and short-tempered man, meaning that his heart will not be quiet and his spirit will immediately rise up to the images of revenge at any time, and he is a burden against the laws of wisdom and he raises the burden from the depths of the soul to the outside, and I have already explained this in verse 17:

**The life of the flesh is a healing heart**, translated above in the Mishnah and the short-tempered Miriam Olat, says one who raises the images of envy that envies his honor on the heart. In addition to the Olat against wisdom, he corrupts another A.A. **The heart heals the life of the flesh**, that the life of the flesh and its healing if its strength weakens, depends on the heart, when the heart is brave and strong, it sends its springs into rivers, they run in a flood through the arteries and water the flesh and revive it. Therefore, one who raises envy to the heart not only consumes the flesh, but also **rots the bones**, and consumes his body, and as the Mishnah says, "Guard your heart from every guard, for from it are the results of life:"

Indeed, man, whose sustenance is difficult to obtain, and there are poor and needy people who cannot obtain their sustenance, prepared by nature that man would help his fellow man, as it is said (Proverbs 22:2): **The rich and the poor meet together, the Lord makes them both**:

**In the heart of the wise, wisdom will rest**. There is a difference between the wise and the unwise. The wise received the laws of wisdom from his masters and did not understand their meaning. When wisdom comes into his heart and he keeps its laws, behold, when the images of lust and folly that oppose the laws of wisdom also come, a heavy battle will arise in his heart (which is the ruling force within him), and the wisdom that is in his heart has an internal battle with the evil images of the heart and has no rest. But the wise is the one who understands a thing from a thing, and he understands the laws of wisdom with his intelligence, and understands how to subdue the desires of the heart that oppose it, and the arms of reason and understanding will stand as a shield for it. **And wisdom will rest**, R"l 1"l rest from its enemies, but the **fools** in whom lust and passion prevail and drive wisdom out of the heart will not be found in their hearts. **Only it will be known among them** that they will use it for evil and that they will turn away from the path of wisdom, and already in my book The fool is not a fool or a fool, for he knows the laws of wisdom and they are within him, only not in his heart, for in his heart desire and inclination will reign and drive wisdom from ruling with its powers:

In all this, justice elevates it. When those who follow the path of justice rise from their lowliness and attain honor, and even the nations, although they have a religion, sin is the deviation from the path of wisdom, and justice is for them kindness, which is the greatest disgrace.

<b>A king's will for a wise servant, and his transgression will be shameful. The wise one is the one who is quick in his work and acts wisely to look to the end, and the shameful one is the one who is slow and does not look to the end. And when they become slaves to a king whose service is the service of all, he will fulfill his will for the wise one, and because of the shameful one, a transgression will be fulfilled for all his servants, which is a boundary of transgression that is also felt by the sinless one, and this is the moral of the matter, as it is said: A man will always see the world as half righteous and half guilty. He deserves to be judged, and the whole world as a weight of merit, because through the wise servant, a will will come from the Supreme King, and if he does not deserve to be judged, he will judge and the whole world, etc., until a transgression is fulfilled for the whole world:
